Just to update this, I've still not heard back from Alfa Romeos customer care centre, despite having been promised quick action..
I've left two more messages for my "case manager" but no callback.
It would seem as though Alfa Romeo U.K. had this car listed incorrectly on their own stock order system, the fault therefore would seem to mainly lie with them and not the dealer, but, if the dealer had got hold of the pictures of the car that I asked for on numerous occasions it would have quickly become apparent that the car had a little extra metal in the roof department than I had requested.

Prices for these cars have seemingly stabilised a bit over the last few months I've been tracking them. I'm in the market for 17 plate Spyder and have enquired on a few cars now. The trade are definitely nervous of them and I worry what mileage will do to values. All the cars for sale seem sub 10k. As discussed , the dealers are beyond poor imho

Is there a view these are a 'future classic'?

Absolutely.

The bargain £40k car at Essex dealer I mentioned earlier is gone. the white £36k at Purecars is gone, and the Spider at Auto100 has gone up in price from £38k and is now listed at £40k.

The summer weather will have no doubt helped in buoying sales, and we'll be seeing a glut of cars coming onto the market next summer as the leases end, but I doubt that will change things much. I was thinking it didn't matter if i delayed a purchase as it got more money in the coffers, but the prices are going up faster than I can save biggrin

Has anyone got a view on how less desirable pastel White as a Colour is V Madraperla?
I've seen Madraperla in the metal but not pastel white and I'm struggling to get my head round if I could live with the Colour...

Drove a flat white one. Looked fine in the flesh, but did have the teledials though. Flat white on the standard wheels may look a bit underwhelming.

The car I'm considering has the 5 hole wheels in the dark finish and lateral air intake in carbon. It has red leather.

Not sure they attract the premium you'd expect over an SE unless they're uber low (ie delivery mileage) which is kind of odd.

I’m tending to agree, they don’t seem to go fir much more , they maybe worth a premium to collectors in the future but that’s many years time and that’s like many cars , a low mileage early 1300 mk 1 Escort will get a decent price , a Mexico silly money

The 4c is an incredible drive and miles don’t seem to be an issue so unless your a long term collector just buy to enjoy. Depreciation is still far less than many cars and as prices have bottomed approaching the end of the summer might be the last chance to get one at a good price

I was going to look at the LE today, but I can't get time off work. Note it's Rosso Red with 11k miles - hard to tell in the picture but they're notorious for paint chips, and if it hasn't been sprayed or protected I suspect it won't look the best, and this alone puts me off the flat red. At least with white they won't be so noticeable!

The LE ones do attract a premium. Arnold Clarke had an LE (although it was the more desirable Rosso Comp) with 15k miles up for about £38k and that disappeared fairly quickly.

I noticed this:
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Had hung around a while, even dropped in price. Thought it looked decent....good spec, although smaller wheels. Then I noticed it doesn't have rear parking sensors :/ why tick all those boxes and not rear sensors, especially as it was free?

They were not free on early cars so this may have been specced before it became a no cost option, not the hardest thing to retro fit with an aftermarket kit but I would say essential.

Just checked & on my 2014 car they were an extra £420 so that's maybe why they weren't added

Whoever fitted the front sticker plate needs their eyes checking. Looks terrible!

Rear sensors are an absolute must on the 4C. Madness not to fit them. Absolute madness.

Well against all the odds, I've actually managed to buy a 4c Spider today, so provided on Monday when I'm due to collect it, it's not grown a roof, I'll be joining the club...
