Fitting Michelin tyres is a great mod. I’ve had the Alfaworks mods and they made it a lot better , the Michelin’s took it a stage further and the road noise was also a lot less. Are they as grippy as the Pirelli’s I can’t judge but they do give you the confidence to push the car harder .

Stuart which Michelin tyres did you fit?

Pilot Sport 4 on the front and Pilot Sport 4S on the back, I have the larger dia wheels and that was all that was available at the time

Same here. Another thumbs up for the Michelins. As for sizes they were as follows:

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (245 x 35 x 19) rears and Pilot Sport 4 (215 x 40 x 18) front

Ride quality has definitely improved, helped No doubt by the increased tyre sizes and grip is prodigious.

Looks like STG's old 4C has finally sold.

Steep drop in cars on AT since lockdown eased, only 15 now.

Still on the hunt for a 50th edition spider bit you’re right numbers are dropping. Hoping it’s the summer buzz and one will appear in the winter.

One on ebay as an auction, currently £22k - very nice example with only 2k miles, only issue ( for me ) is it's yellow

Thought that did quite well for Ebay and private sale although reserve not met at £34k

White one appeared at Snows Alfa Southampton for a lot more - £45k

I went to look at this car at the weekend. I think it must have been sat around for 12 months since the lease deal ended last year. In saying that they’ve done a really good job in tidying it up. It also has most of the extra goodies like the car cover and cleaning kit etc. I was seriously thinking about buying it but I went to look at a Rosso competizione repossession which was in the same area. The Rosso car was a complete shed, but to my eyes the colour was so much better than the yellow.

I saw the advert for the Snows car. Probably another ex lease that’s sat around. Good luck with 45K!!!

At least the number plate doesn't look out of place

For anyone looking for a 50th Anniversary Spider - remember it also came with a limited edition overnight bag in faux carbon fibre with stitching that matched the colour of the car. I think they were said to be "worth" £700. So if this is missing, then you have something to bargain with.

I think the chances of finding an ex lease car with this are next to zero. You’d be lucky if the car cover is still present, but it’s a fair point about bargaining. I’ve been looking since just before lockdown and the best one sold in a day. The ropey, overpriced or yellow ones hang around for ages.

Yeah I’ve never seen one for sale with the Bag, and in fact I don’t know any owners with it either!

The yellow car on eBay appears to be listed with a low start and reserve to draw interest to the sellers site. Can’t see anyone paying over £35. Same car is on PH for mid £40’s. That sort of marketing puts me right off. Wait for a nice private sale car. Most of the dealers I’ve spoken to come across as total chancers. Unsurprising more than one aren’t in business anymore.

I kept the bag, nice they are too but didn't know they had colour coded stitching, I need to check mine out.

My ex lease has now shown up for sale on Pistonheads, still up on the Manheim site too strangely so wondering if they are just letting the dealer try to sell it for them!? Has been going through the auctions since March!

If it’s the black coupe, it’s at the same dealer that is selling the yellow spider pictured above. Maybe just using the Manheim photos before collecting it. I see autotrader is down to just 13 cars now. I could be waiting a long time for the perfect spec and condition to appear.

What spec are you looking for?

Ideally a 50th anniversary in Rosso competizione. Failing that a high spec spider with the 18/19 wheels, racing exhaust, leather dash, carbon air intake, leather or microfibre seats, parking sensors and cruise control in any colour except yellow. Full service history and not an ex lease would be a bonus.
