I have been dithering for a while about what to get as a weekend car and put a deposit on this today. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11388224?c...
My daughter has a Mito, I had a Brera when they were first released which I loved, so looking forward taking delivery next week. Probably going to be an all-Italian line up as the family X3 is going to be replaced by a Levante as soon as we can get out for test drive and confirm it will work for us.

I had a quick look at this car simply because the garage is close to my house. It was nice, but it had a few rough bits. I hope the video they sent you highlighted the flaws. For example, 3 of the 4 wheels were kerbed and the roof was badly faded with evidence of mould/algae on it. The seller also didn’t think he had the book pack with the service record although this may now have turned up. For reference I also have a Comp Red Spider so I took it round with me to meet it’s twin 😂My daughter has a Mito, I had a Brera when they were first released which I loved, so looking forward taking delivery next week. How long have your had your Spider? I have done a fair amount of reading reviews, watching them on Youtube and stalking on here and the 4C Forum, but would appreciate any hints / tips / feedback on your ownership experience.
If all goes well the car should be here next Tuesday, so got to sort the top of my sloped driveway which is a bit ropey this weekend. My last weekend car was a Cali 30 and that didn't have any problems with ground clearance, but I think the 4C is a fair bit lower at the front.
It is due a 3rd service in the summer and I contacted my nearest AR dealer in King's Lynn to get an idea of price - they quoted me £1400 , so as Alfaworks isn't too far away the car will definitely be going there.
The front of a stock 4C isn't particularly low to be honest. Aided by the short overhang too. Lowered ones or ones with front splitters added on are a different story though. Depends on just how steep your driveway is of course. Good luck with the purchase and post back when you receive the car!

@lawrywild & @ Chrisatronic many thanks for the replies about ground clearance. The driveway grids I ordered the other day arrived a little earlier today so tomorrow will be a day of digging, levelling and tidying to shallow the angle - grids will be filled with Cotswold chippings. The last thing I need is for the car to arrive on Tuesday, not be able to get it down the drive as we live in the sticks and there is nowhere to park on the road, and have to leave it on a neighbour's drive!!
4C owners can sleep well knowing you are paid to own and drive this beauty!

I am guessing there is probably a way to dye the material on the roof, or refurbish it - somebody on here may be able to advise?
The roof is not too difficult a sort. Mine’s was a little faded when I got it, but a quick brush and a coating of Fabisil restored the water repellency and blackened it nicely. A few others have mentioned that the AutoGlym roof treatment also works well.

I’ve only had my car for a couple of months - it’s actually the exact same colour so I’ll state in a non-biased way that you’ve definitely bought the best colour - but like you have mentioned I spent a fair while reading reviews, forums, and other media alongside watching YouTube videos. The other owners have been a great source of knowledge too. One of the best changes I made was to adjust the drivers seat to fit me better. Removing the seat is the best way to do this and is a piece of cake on a Spider as you can remove the 4 bolts fixing it to the floor then lift it straight up and out!! The seat is mounted on a metal plate which has three bolts on each side - front, middle and rear. Each bolt has a top, middle & bottom mounting position. The seat on the car you’ve bought has all the bolts in the bottom position which makes the seat as low as possible - but it’s very flat. It seems to be for taller drivers ( I’m 6’1” ) that the best solution is to move the bolt at the front of the seat to the top position to give support behind your knees thus creating more of a bucket seat feel. This means you can the put the middle bolt in the middle position for extra support with a bit of wiggling. I’ve actually reverted to having no bolt in the middle position, with the rear bolt in the lowest position and the front bolt in the middle position which I felt was the best compromise for me. There is a guide to doing this on the 4c forum which is much more eloquently described alongside pictures!!
I also found driving about in All weather mode then Normal mode broke me in gently to the cars characteristics and throttle/boost response before I tackled Dynamic mode.
It’s been an absolute hoot so far and I’m delighted that I made the switch having lusted after one since they were launched. You won’t be disappointed and hopefully the seller will give it a good valet prep which may help with the roof situation before it’s imminent arrival. I’m a bit sad that it’s going back down south as it would have been nice to have had another locally but I guess that just reserves more waves, stares and cameraphone points for me ;-)

@Scottchp many thanks for the detailed response. Like many on here I am quite fastidious when it comes to keeping a car looking as it should, so I will be sorting any cosmetic issues within the first few days of having it and will put a couple of pics up as soon as it's done.
Me and my wife are Middle Earth dwellers so I expect I will have to put the driver's seat on its highest setting, and even then the wife may need a bolster.
I haven't seen a 4C anywhere around where I live - in fact I think I have only seen 2 in the wild. I spoke with the transportation company and they have confirmed that the car will be here Tuesday, so I am starting to get that 'kid at Christmas' feeling. Right, time to get on with the driveway........

It’s like nothing else out there...and probably wider than everything else....Me and my wife are Middle Earth dwellers so I expect I will have to put the driver's seat on its highest setting, and even then the wife may need a bolster.

I never forget collecting my first 4C and bringing it back home. I’d measured, measured again and then remeasured the garage garage v car width but bloody hell...it was tight and despite having a double garage they were single doors. A mirror on the far wall helped

Your car looks fantastic. I am probably going to have the same problem as our double garage has two single doors - it's one of those nasty Compton prefab things. It will be replaced eventually but it's quite low down on the big list of jobs to do as we work our way through refurbishing an old property. The car may have to live outside for a while and I will cover it in the summer to keep the rays off.I never forget collecting my first 4C and bringing it back home. Been digging the top of the drive for the last 3 hours and am hanging out of my spinky!! Quick coffee break and back to it....

Easiest way I find is line the car up with the garage, get out, fold in mirrors and push in, you need a level approach to the garage for that . Being a very light car it’s quite easy
Second is to reverse it in , slightly closer to the garage on the drivers side and fold that side mirror in as you pass the door pier .
If you ever park anywhere and someone parks close to you it’s a lot easier to get in with the drivers window down, if you hold the key on unlock for a few seconds it will drop the window down . This does not work in reverse so once the window is down it needs to be wound back up from inside the car in the usual way

My answer was a mirror opposite the entrance to the garage. You can then line up perfectly against the mirror based on the gap available. My best investment a £5 IKEA mirror Easiest way I find is line the car up with the garage, get out, fold in mirrors and push in, you need a level approach to the garage for that . @moley RUFC & Stuart J many thanks for the tips. Wing mirror to wing mirror it is almost exactly the same as the X3 and I can just about squeeze that in - I like the idea of the mirror behind.
Drive is done so no longer an issue - first time laying the interlocking plastic grid so it shouldn't drop away as time goes on - and now just 2 sleeps. Given some of the cars I have owned in the past and my age, it's ridiculous how excited I am about getting it. Tuesday is set to be 20 degrees + so I will be able to get the roof off and have a decent run out .

Did I hear prices are increasing? Hurrah!
Anyway, after dilly dallying about, I’ll be putting mine up onto CC in the next month. I’ll tart her up, paint, wheels, etc.
She has to go and make room for whichever of the 911, Aston or Donkey I eventually decide on/ my wife lets me have...
Selling a Lampredi cam always makes me sad
