If your looking to buy one to drive don’t spend a lot extra for a low mileage car , they are very reliable so buy a higher miler cheap and go out and enjoy it.

Limited use of these cars and hence the low mileage by most owners tends to draw people in to thinking cars with c10k miles is too high for a 3yr car! As you say going by US/EU market where there are some really high miles examples/heavily tracked cars they seem robust but the UK market is wrapped up in odometer readings and number of owners. Same with GT4 where a 10k mile difference of near identical cars can affect the price by 10%. Owners then end up shaking like a stting dog when they drive it and put miles on it rolleyes

Whilst some dealers were accepting bold offers below screen price I'm not sure that's the case now. Plus ARUK have yet to get their act together and build customer loyalty given my impression of some places.

The one at Hampshire Sport and Prestige Cars looks a nice car.

I think if I was selling it would be to the trade, it is easy and I have only had a couple of private sale experiences and I did not get offered much more than the trade, plus you get a load of test pilots. One would not even agree to insure my Z4M, he said "don't worry, I am a great driver"

Life's to short!

Agreed, the red car at Hampshire Sports and Prestiege looks a really nicely spec car at a sensible price.

I've got a rental Anniversary and I saw the invoice was £60.703.00 to the finance company after a discount so if I'd bought this for cash and wanted out now then offers around £42k, as you've been bid, I'd be a bit financially sore!
Be interesting to see how much they want for the car in June next year with 12k miles up. If it's a good price I'd keep it and modify it but if they are unrealistic and start talking full retail then they'll get it back.

That is interesting, as I popped in to a specialist to look at something for my wife in my mine and got a very interesting offer from someone there at the same time. I think people are waking up to these.

As we all know though, it is all about when you actually want to sell. I know Joe on here had his 2016 sold subject to finance at strong money the other day.

I get the private purchase though, if nothing else you avoid the Alfa "service"
Never went through frustratingly. Turns out the buyer had a couple of defaults (Not declared originally) so his finance was declined. What was even more frustrating is that another chap wanted the car but as I had this guy on the boil I honoured my original sale agreement, and subsequently the other chap bought a different car...

Since then I've had 2 Indie dealers contact me to buy mine, not realising who I am. One offered 33K and the other 35K. This shows I've pitched it bang on the money and I'm not in any real rush to sell.

People are definitely waking up to them. I've had a few offers already on the Launch Edition coupe I've got advertised and a few enquiries on the Spider. Many Ferrari (430 and 360 specifically) owners are trading into them which is interesting.

Chatting to a Swiss guy in Italy a couple of years ago , he had owned Ferrari’s for 24 years , bought a 4c on spec and said it was best car he had owned , he’d had 348 355 and 360 amongst others so interesting what your saying

To be honest, I described it to someone as a mini F430.

Either Thames have upped their game or it was all for effect (I'm leaning to the latter) as my experience was being led round the back to the 'valeting area' to watch Stevie Wonder & Roy Orbison destroy the PPF with a Jet wash, leave all the ste in the panel crevices and fail to deal with a kerbed wheel and stone chip bigger than one of my chalfonts. Not bad going when they had 3-weeks to prepare the car and had 3hrs notice of my arrival on the day booked to collect.

Funnily enough, this is a pretty much accurate description of the "handover" of my 4c by Ancaster. They must have both attended the Alfa training session on customer handovers...

With the best will in the world many Alfa dealers I’ve visited come across as ignorant about the car. Salesmen I’ve met seem young as well. Smiled when called ‘bruv’ by one chap in a dealership.

I agree totally, without Superleggera's generous help and e mails, I would never have bought one. He is hugely knowledgable and helpful, and I didn't buy a car from him either.

Just an enthusiast.

@888_MF car has 3k miles on it and he says he paid £40k. Was that the same numbers you were talking about?

Yes, give or take. You can imagine I was quite keen to buy the car given it was a spider...

I had a look at that one, but the HWM one I ended up with was in much better condition.

And the irony is HWM, who seem well regarded, are no longer AR authorised dealers I believe. Presumably they realised they operated at a level far superior to FCA.
