Problem is a full size stick on plate doesn’t fit the flat vertical part of the bumper - it has to curve over the top and doesn’t look right.
Therefore, a cut down plate is needed either as a sticker or rigid plastic.

Sticky plates are illegal
Plates must be reflective & there are rules as to how vertical it has to be
Plate must have the BS number on it & the details of the supplier ( who made it )
Not sure there's a min plate size but there are min letter sizes, spacing & min border width around the letters
Alfa supply a bracket to bolt onto the bumper to take a std full sized plate
I think most Police will be OK as long as its of a reasonable size etc , certainly don't think you would get a ticket the first time, just some advice
No plate is a lesser penalty than an illegal plate , £100 and no points I believe

Doesn't get in the way at all, although it does obscure the toggle buttons underneath, you could just raise the screen up to avoid this, but I didnt want to cover the vents.

We got pulled over about six weeks ago and fined £100 for no front plate. He said get a stick on plate as long as it is the 145 D reflective it will be ok. The dealer in Marylebone said as the vehicle was not supplied with a fixed number plate holder from the Manufacturer you can get away with a stick on plate. We have the holder for the numberplate but it was never fixed to the vehicle. They seem to be really cracking down on this now so we are getting a stick on plate fitted before next use. I know of somebody that had his private plate took off him for having no front numberplate on his GT3 Buggers. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governmen...

Interesting a stick on would be allowed , I had been told it was illegal but he ought to know his stuff , my feeling is that if it’s close to the std plate size wise you should be okArmitage.Shanks said:
It's OK on E-types et al so can't see an issue if its reflective
Legal on cars before a certain age Trawling the net I would say technically illegal but it’s a very vague are and I would say as long as it looks about right you should be ok but depends I guess on who stops you
This might help but again a bit vague and no idea how well the author may have researched it but reads like he has ( don’t take everything on the net at face value etc )
