Yes that's quite funny!

It will be interesting where the prices go next year. I love the car, but the dealership experience, and Alfa ownership is not very good.

Ultimately that will be the reason I sell the car, both are truly dreadful and not one that ensures long term ownership.

Such a shame.

Out of warranty specialists like Alfa Workshop are the answer and are certainly far more familiar with the cars and will do a better job than any dealer so if you think it’s a keeper don’t be worried

Agreed, just take it to Alfa Workshop. They see more 4c's than anyone else, they know the car better than any Alfa main dealer and from my discussions with them, having the car serviced by them will not invalidate your warranty if that's a concern.

I am in the market for one and have four main questions.

6'2", how will I fare in the driver's seat and will I be able to see the display?

Coupe Vs Spider headroom with the tops on? Any difference? Probably need as much headroom as possible to use it with a helmet, and it rains on a lot of track days so the top would likely be on in the Spider.

Standard vs. race suspension: is there any real difference on the road or track? I will track this car occasionally.

Insurance costs compared to a Boxster, Elise, Exige, etc.?

There is a fair bit more room in a 4c compared to an Exige so I don't thin you'll struggle to fit.

Insurance will depend on your postcode I guess but I've got my spider insured for £450 a year comp with a £200 xs wih a 3k Mile a year mileage allowance. My car is garaged.

Can't comment on race v std suspension but a trip to Alfa works for their Geo mod for either is likely to be an improvement for road use.

Good luck with your search!

So for a variety of reasons I may be selling mine on, got two trade bids and it seems like they are good news these cars. I had some fun and moving it on for a minimal loss. Plus in the middle of winter.

Both offers in writing from people that I have dealt with before.

Bit surprised in on way, but not in another, mine is a 2017 anniversary spider, and the anniversary bit seemed to make a bit of a difference.

Just thought I would share.

Car market now and certainly pre crimbo is struggling , if you have good bids I would let it go , if brexit goes badly it will be a while before confidence is back , having said that if the trade are bidding well and they know the market it bodes well for the rest of us

I’ll bid on it.

The v.low miles yellow Spider at BMW Sunningdale looks to have just sold. At £40,500 it looked a very good price.

Yes I've been watching that one, depending on condition and history it looked a good deal

A 2016 car with 783 miles on it, CF lateral intake and leather dash I'd say it was a bargain. If it was a straight purchase I reckon they may have sold just under the £40k.

Isn't it about time Alfa built a GT4 version and raced in European and national GT series?

Or built a rally GT version - the new Stratos? Ideal for European tarmac rallies, and the MSVT/MSN Circuit Rally series

Are you coming out of the QF as well to leave the brand or just the 4C? Whilst I'd agree the dealer experience is poor, I've managed to find a good one to at least give me some confidence for now.

I've been following this thread for a while, as was considering a 4C, but think I have decided against it now.

However, thought this seems cheap for anyone looking for a coupe:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

In case the ad disappears:
2016/66
6400 miles
Giallo
Leather dash
Leather seats
Yellow calipers
CF headlights
17/18 matt black wheels
£34795

That does look well priced.
Just out of interest why the change of heart on the 4c purchase Mark?
