4C - Where are we with prices right now?
Discussion
I'm thinking about buying a 4C here in Ireland and am interested to hear people's opinions on values and what might happen them?
The lowest prices cars seem to be about £35k at the moment. Do we think they will continue to depreciate below this?
There is currently one car for sale here for just under €60k. This car has the Alfa Works handling kit and is a pretty nice spec.

If I bought a UK car for £35k it would likely cost a minimum of €53k once registered here. So I would say the car advertised is a bit over priced but not massively so.
What are your current thoughts on future values?

Given the limited supply of cars in Ireland it would certainly made sense to come and grab one of our cars. Values are strong in the UK as well as mainland Europe. The lowest prices cars seem to be about £35k at the moment. Do we think they will continue to depreciate below this?

In Europe currently the cheapest 4C has 30k miles and is 44k Euro. (39k GBP). Happy to help if you need any advice on UK cars.

That's not a well spec'd car. There is no cruise, plastic light mounts (carbon is better), absence of leather dash and, most essential in a coupe, rear parking sensors. I think even factoring in the tax you can get a better car on the mainland for better/similar money. Plus it's an early car with a lot of miles compared to most.https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/alfa-romeo-4...

Thanks for this. I'm not overly familiar with the cars or various specs. However, I have read the Alfa Works handling pack is very worthwhile and I like the alloys on the car linked to in Ireland. Would you be able to comment on this car? What it might not have that would be nice to have etc?
Thanks

Thanks, that's useful comment and I agree RE pricing.Johnny 89 said:

I agree parking sensors may be useful, but in a sports car, I'm not sure if leather dash or cruise control could be called essential. Similarly, with the plastic light surrounds; I should think the weight of each is pretty much the same and as for looks, the carbon fibre surrounds don't neccesarily look any better and perhaps look too shiny.
I don't disagree chum but cruise and rear sensors became a no cost option. Plus if you've got an eye on future re-sale at some point given that there aren't that many 'extras' on a 4C most buyers will want them all. Whilst they don't necessarily add to second hand value I'd factor in over a base model where prices are similar. As a compromise putting in a reversing camera would work OK and even better if wired to give a live feed (via the rear view mirror type) as rear visibility is shocking.
Ring up a dealer to look at buying a car off them.
Dealer: Oh the cars in storage,
Me: I said thats great can you get me some photos of the front end please as its alfa red and I want to see how its held up.
Dealer: - Nah mate, Sorry its off site and I'm busy.
Me: Ok, good luck selling it then! No wonder its been on the market 6 months.
Best bit was this.
Me: Has it got Factory or Aftermarket PPF?
Dealer: Look mate, I used to work at Alfa and you couldn't get factory PPF on this car.
Me: Errrr

This is what ARUK need to address if they're ever going to be a credible alternative. Thank god the business model is shifting to direct sales and ecommerce!Dealer: Oh the cars in storage,

Any thoughts on the, what appears to be very cheap, 4C Spider on Autotrader?
Mileage I'd say and it's a 2015 car. That said engines appear bulletproof on these cars and mega miles has not reported in any issues. Many in EU/US are in excess of 60k miles! It'd need a check over to see how many stone chips there are on it. Selling a car with one internal picture sounds like they must be Alfa dealers as they've shown their marketing skills with aplomb
For another potential £3k I'd buy the Sunningdale car with 800 miles on it
It's a pretty awful ad, well up to main dealer standards!
The 4c market at the moment, is v mileage sensitive but as has been said, these are pretty robust little cars so 15,000 mikes shouldnt equal a broken, wreck of a car..
I'd want to know the full specification including does it have cruise and park sensors, number of owners, details of service history and importantly as it's outside of manufacturers warranty will it come with a years approved Alfa warranty?
Having said all of that, haggle a grand off the Sunningdale car and I'd take that instead I think.
