Abarth - why a 595 comp over a 695 XSR?
Discussion
Time has come to buy - I don’t want to spend more than £18k so naturally I’ve been looking at 595 comps.
Looking through autotrader the other day I noticed that the 695 XSR is in reach.
Other than the drop in power to 160 on the 695, it looks the better car - loads of carbon, the Akrapovich exhaust and I like the grey it comes in.
Am I missing something?
The lower power will be taken care of on either so that’s not really an issue.
I still don’t know the difference between a 595 and a 695 either.
So, why would you chose the comp over the XSR? (Or the other way round)

Ok - because...?
It’s only the Biposto that should be a 695?
I’m not seeing any comps coming up with the PP at the moment for my budget.
Whatever I get will not stay standard for long, I was under the impression that the Akra was a far better exhaust too?
Exactly that. Ref the exhaust, I think it looks better but the Monza, to my ears at least, sounds better. It’s only the Biposto that should be a 695?

I’ve wired my Monza valve open to prevent the seizure issue. I don’t know if the Akrapovic suffers from the same (easily resolvable) issue.

I saw they were leather. They looked nice - I wasn’t 100% sold on the comfort of the sabelts when I had a comp for a few days.
Needs must. I am in Abarth number five right now, the last 3 with Sabelts which I'm hooked on.Sabelts are absurdly expensive when ordered from a dealer after sales.

Carbon Sabelt seats, mechanical LSD & lightweight sports wheels.
Cheers. The XSR was more a “parts bin special” of parts lying around the workshop.
With the XSR you don’t get the following:
BMC airfilter
Front Koni FSD suspension
Brembo brakes

I’m seeing lots with the lightweight wheels, not many with carbon sabelts and I haven’t seen one mention of the PP.
A quick 2 seconds on PH classifieds. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
And this is worth £16k all day long: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/... this was AHM (specialist) demonstrator so has the 695 BMC air filter on and a remap to 220bhp if you don’t buy this car you’d be a fool.

Possibly PP car https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
All the cars I’ve posted are red as I thought that’s what you were after, just realised that’s another member.

Garages don't always know about PP this is a bonus as they then don't price for it , from advert pics if the car is manual, supersport wheels, aerial delete it probably has the PP there is a label on the gearbox that shows it has LSD but I doubt you can see this unless you take the battery box and ECU out!

The one at the lotus garage I posted earlier appears to be like this. The performance pack came with the wheels, aerial delete, LSD and stripes in red/white/black with matching bumper inserts. Normal comps are grey mirrors like the whisker and door handles. Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
