For info chaps - 2 weeks is your lot for leaving the car and her having an electrical strop.

It’s also a pain in the arse getting leads on to the lugs so there is a good contact to charge her!

Ive left mine a lot longer than that in the Garage with no issues, is it completely dead, if yes one thing to check , you get rain water draining onto the battery & if the connections aren't clean or tight it can immobilise the car.

I had mine immobile on the drive one day, Alfa came out , the chap had a booster pack & as soon as he put one connector on the car came to life, he had just nudged the connector enough to create a contact. Not saying you have the same but might be worth checking.

If its loosing power in 2 weeks I would say you have another issue, either a tired battery or something draining it

Well after an hour on charge she has started. Leaving her running under her own steam for a bit. She is due back at Jamie’s gaff in March, so I’ll have him give her a thorough check over. This is the first strip of any kind she has thrown in 18 months and 30000 miles.

She has a 200mile run ahead of her today down to Devon, so we will see how she goes. Any grief and I’ll call Alfa immediately and have her hauled in.

Nobody enjoys driving on the M4 and M5 Stuart, it’s a pure exercise in stuffing raw onions up your bum.

Well electrically she was good as gold but uuuurrrgghhh! was she horrible to drive!!

Cold, grouchy and the brakes decided that after a cpl of weeks of hanging around doing nothing that they would grow enough granite pitted moss to meld seemlessly into Dartmoor.

In some ways it has made me smile, she is a proper Italian “Speciale” now. After 18 months, 31,000 miles of being used as a daily and long distance tourer, she has finally thrown a proper Testarossa prima dona Italian diva strop!

And then returned to running just fine after 200miles of papa assuring her she is still loved. All is as it should be in the world again 😍

Agree on the motorways , didn’t totally appreciate it was a work trip but glad once you paid her some attention she looked after you , Italian ladies reward when pampered I’m told. Lol

...and it turns out we have an issue!

Battery symbol appeared last night on the M4. Cue a graceful failure degradation of a progressively more colourful Christmas tree dashboard lighting up, culminating in the transmission going into neutral as the tranny ECU decided it didnt like the amount of electrical juice it was getting.

Fortunately the graceful degradation aspect gave me a hint of what was to come and Id moved her into the inside lane and dropped down 60 by the time we found a boxful of neutrals so I could just coast onto the hard shoulder. If the box went to neutral if you were doing 70+ on the outside lane - that could be interesting!!!

Anyway, the Alfa service eventually got me home, the car is now at the nearest dealership to where I stopped - Swindon - and Im waiting to hear back!!

Tough for you but glad it’s totally failed . Hopefully the problem will be easier to identify
