Software recall during first service
Replaced key battery

That’s it
4 years 60,000 miles.
zero problems. Nothing broken, everything working as it should do. Not a single warranty claim.

Still, it’s a 4 series BMW so there you go.
105000 miles, new cam chain with associated sensors at 96,000 miles, one suspension bush, no rattles, squeaks or other issues, Alfa Brera S.
50,000 miles, no issues of any sort, Alfa Giulietta.

smilesmile Haha. That’s exactly what I’ve gone to - a 440i. There’s more quality in 1 click of the iDrive controller...
Yes, but every time you see an Alfa QF you heart sinks! wink
Nah, that’s never, ever going to happen. My new thing is pretty good looking too and I know that the talent is more than skin deep. smile

Good luck.
Most unreliable car I have ever owned was a BMW 5 series.

Comparing a 440i to a Giulia Quad, don't get that one.

If you read my original post on the matter, it's very clear that I wasn't. Then someone started talking about how a Quad looks...in a thread about quality.

Very true because you will only see the back for a very short time! wink

It’s essentially brand new - got it just before Christmas. 69 plate, we’re the first owners.
Still no sign of getting the car back, it's still awaiting parts from Italy. So in about 8 weeks of ownership we've had three recovery callouts, and for two weeks and counting it's been with the dealer.

The recall is for a fan apparently, it can fail and overheat the engine.
Another week without the car making it three weeks at the dealer awaiting parts from Italy, still no guidance on when we'll get it back rolleyes

Gutted for you, I don’t think this represents the quadrifoglio brand generally , but I do wish you car back quickly.

That’s sad to hear. I hope they’ve given you something decent as a temporary replacement?

It’s a company-managed vehicle so they’ve given us a 420D Gran Coupe to use whilst we wait for the Alfa. It’s not quick but it is operational at least, and we’re getting the best fuel economy we’ve had in years!!

It's a good question, but no - there didn't seem much point as presumably everyone was trying as hard as possible to get the required parts from Italy.

Anyway, we've been told we should get it back next Wednesday (although my wife's due to change jobs so we'd decided to take the opportunity to hand it back early as we're fed up with the whole thing).

It's a shame and it looks like we've been unlucky with this one, maybe we'll feel brave enough to try Alfa again at some point in the future.

Well here’s my experience so far...

After much research I jumped from a Porsche cayenne S to a brand new quadrifoglio last week, collection arranged for Monday just gone. On my way to collect the car I received a call from the dealership saying there had been a recall due to a water pump issue and they could not let the car leave the showroom.

After getting significantly upset with them on arrival, they advised the part would be expressed next day, it was a 5 hour job to fit, to which they had already started, so collection yesterday afternoon. After being completely ignored by the dealership on when it was ready to collect I finally got a response this morning saying there were further issues with the car and the replacement parts were only in Italy so at least another 10 days before the car ‘might’ be ready to collect.

Bearing in mind this was an unregistered car with little to no miles on the clock, to say my experience so far has been concerning is a significant understatement. Despite the money being paid over, finance agreed, trade in done etc. I’m one more poor response from the dealer from heading over to the German dealerships for an M3, C63, RS4 tomorrow.

So far not so good.
