Those bloomin Alfa dealers are making it up again, or something.
Must be the stock excuse when someone bins it on the PDI test drive! Everyone wants full noise on a test so into race mode it goes and off go the driver aids
17 thousand miles on my QF, going like a dream. A recent fun trip up from the South of France on N and minor roads was excellent.
I replaced my OE Pirelli rears with standard P Zero Corsa which are fine. Might replace the fronts with the OE Assimetrico ones as they have done well on European roads.
My dealer Westover in Poole has just closed, but I've just had a good experience at Vospers in Exeter who had to calibrate a replacement windscreen camera, so will try them for service,
I've just placed an order for a MY19 QV, and I must admit I'm very close to changing my mind after reading this thread.
I had the exact same experience with Alfa 2 1/2 years ago with a Veloce. Simple issue (dash rattle) which turned into a complete farce. Straight into the dealer who did their best, but AR UK and Italy wouldn't authorise them to carry out work to investigate.
Instead it took a week to even get authorisation to take the dash out, and back and forth emails from the dealer to Italy for different things to try, each taking a day to get a response.
Then they wanted to send an AR UK technician to have a look, but that'd be at least another week away. So took the car back, drove it for a week, then left it with them. Didn't see it again for another 3 weeks, and that was only because I ended up rejecting it and AR Italy didn't want to continue with the work when they found out I'd requested the rejection.
In the 8 weeks of ownership I had use of it for about 3.
Alfa UK also fabricated a nonsense technical report to say no one had witnessed any issue, and submitted it to FCA finance (wholly impartial of course) in an attempt to stop the rejection. I countered with the warranty job card and all correspondence between the garage, AR UK and AR Italy which said very differently. Obviously that prompted lots of apologies and an instant acceptance of the rejection.
It took a further 8 weeks for the car to leave the dealer and go to auction, and had another 600 miles on from when I dropped it off. I know the dealer didn't buy the car back from FCA finance but had agreed to continue with the warranty work.
The ONLY reason I've decided to come back is because the deal on the QV is incredible, and it'd probably be the only opportunity I'd get to run something like this for a reasonable monthly outlay. I also still have love for the Giulia and the brand for some reason.
Doesn't look like Alfa have changed at all and I should probably stick with BMW if I don't want this hassle and nonsense again.
My 440i hasn't been perfect, but when there have been minor issues they've been dealt with quickly, efficiently and with no fuss.

Well done what have they gfv it at?
£23400 after 4 years and 48k miles.List price was £68k-ish.
5.0% APR, but has a discount and a hefty deposit contribution. I'd rather not post the exact details, but it's significantly cheaper (£100s different / month) than a same spec'd MY20 under the same terms.

Don’t worry about the dealer, just enjoy the car like so many happy owners on here (including me) do!
I'm not concerned about having an issue / breakdown as that can happen in any car. It's also not the dealer I'm worried about - in my experience with Alfa their hands are tied and AR UK call the shots. What I'm concerned about is what happens if / when this happens. Having previous experience with Alfa's 'customer service' and others echoing the same attitude 2 1/2 years on, it worries and scares me.
If I've put down a significant sum of money and paying out more monthly than I've ever considered for a PCP, I don't want to end up with my car in the garage for 6 weeks and paying over £1k to drive around in an Enterprise Rental 1.0L Vauxhall Corsa, or a basic Giulietta as happened last time.
Alfa Romeo don't seem to understand that it's costing people actual money to finance these cars.

Life is too short to drive a 440i, a nice car but not a great one. My M135i was a nice car but I haven't thought about it at all in the last 3+ years of fuss free QV ownership.I had the exact same experience with Alfa 2 1/2 years ago with a Veloce. If I cancel the Alfa I'll be going to an m340i most likely. Not on the same level as the Alfa, but very modern, competent and backed up by first class after sales.I suppose nothing is perfect, and the trade off for the awesome Alfa is shoddy customer service.

I thought you rejected the Alfa QV a few weeks back?
Nope, rejected a Veloce back in May 2018.Just pulled out of the deal on a QV unfortunately. I spoke to a few QV owners from some Alfa Forums and it appears Alfa's customer service is still as shocking as it ever was. Plenty of stories of cars being kept in for weeks on end for minor issues, and Alfa UK not providing the "Top Care" services they're obliged to.
Shame as it's a beautiful car, but there's no local dealers who can match the price unfortunately and I'm not comfortable buying from one garage miles away and taking it to another for work after what happened two years ago.
Never had a problem with this when it comes to any other manufacturer, but you really need to be on it with Alfa unfortunately.

I dont understand if you love driving it and been faultless how does a dealer service stop you buying another? Also you dont have to use the dealers have you checked for Alfa Independants there are some really good ones around that know what they are doing - You might not get a coffee though or a decent loan car - but who cares if you drive a thing of beauty thats flawless!
That's no help if you need work done under warranty unfortunately, which is exactly what happened to me last time.If you're spending £70k on a car you need to know that if something goes wrong its in good hands, and will be off the road for the shortest time possible.
