Also, ring around. Prices vary hugely.

I'm about to have my 36,000 service (although tempted to go Indi as I'm out of warranty).....ARUK official sites vary from £1,200 to £1,600 for the same service.
Are you aware of the Mopar service pack that costs circa £500 and pays for that service??

I just checked my receipt, £499 for three scheduled services.

And what was my first scheduled service (after my old service pack ran out), it was the big 36,000 mile one.

Sounds too good to be true but that's exactly what I did, saved me loads!

Something to get before they cotton on smile
When was that? I looked but it only had the prepay oil service option.

Thanks!
Ask your dealer, only bought it about 4 months ago. Mopar Prepaid Service Plan etc
Resurrection.... Just to day after 4 dealers denied all knowledge of it, I've just bought the service pack. £499 and it immediately covers the 36k service booked in for next week that would have cost £1265! The dealer's warranty 'girl' even highlighted it was incredible value.

Thanks Gus!! It took some work, but you've just saved me £765!! I'm now SO tempted to take it to the bds at Mangoletsi who wanted to charge £1700 for the service, and not tell them until I collect the car.

She did say that the cost of the service pack was due to go up this month, so anyone with a 3yr old car that needs one, get it quick!!
Glad it worked out! I still struggle to believe it myself but it is Alfa Logic so maybe it makes sense smile

Any thoughts on what you are going to change the QV for?
Not really given it much thought - nigh on impossible to drive anything at the moment and I've still got 6 months.

I'm not even going to try and replace it with something comparable. Unless the M3 makes its biggest leap up ever, any other sports saloon is going to feel numb and crap compared to the QV.

I fancy going totally different and getting an SUV, grow up for a couple of years - plus the practicality would be great for carrying my bike. Really tempted by 3yrs in a FFRR P400e - most of my mileage at present is under 10miles, it could be pure leccy. RRS HST is an another option.

I might go really sensible and get a Discovery with the I6 turbo, with the plan to pass that down to Mrs Ares in a couple of years time, leaving me the scope to get something dafter.

Might also just have one last throw of a V8 whilst we still can. F-Pace SVR is looking a little tired, even in facelift, but what an engine. The M550i looks daft value for a great car. Ditto the M50i X5. Don't burn me, but I got passengers in an X7 M50i just before Christmas and it was a lovely thing..... I've a real soft spot for big trucks.

Did flirt with a Taycan, but not sure I want full EV yet, we'll be forced into them soon enough.

To butt in here... It’s a really tricky question. Mine’s coming up to 4 years and I can’t think what will do the same job. The new M3 is a horrifying-looking thing, I don’t really want an SUV so was thinking of (weirdly but because I work for an associated company) Toyota Supra. 400bhp, rear wheel drive, the same ZF gearbox, and in the flesh they’re much better than in pictures. Sound great too.

But I’ll struggle to let the Alfa go.

I started this thread a few years Ago and now only have 1 year (ish) left with the quadrifoglio , starting to
Think about a replacement and had very little issue so do I jump in another one . Or m3, what’s the view on c63? I fear both may feel like a down grade!?

Also thinking suv what’s the view on the Macan ? Not sure why this appeals, need to get a ride in one when show rooms open I think .

I was in the same boat. Only driven 11k miles in 3 years and the car still feels special. Normally I get bored, but I decided to buy a 2 year service plan and 2 years extended warranty and ride it out for a few more years. For my requirements I can’t think of many better options... I did add the AHM exhaust flap mod which completes the car

Yes I added that AMH remote flap after 1week , I understand the new cars have a button now??

I do 15-20k miles a year and never get board with it! Going to test drive the main players before deciding but have a year to do this .

I wish they made an estate, I know there is the Stelvio but it's just not the same.

Adding a hatch to the Giulia would add that extra bit of practicality.

Coming up to 3 years ownership and my car has been absolutely faultless. So good in fact, I have resigned myself to the fact it cannot be replaced by anything comparable. I'll probably take a complete step backwards and get a Merc diesel or similar. Once you have reached the top of the mountain, the only way is back down.

I’ve had a 2019 Macan S from new, neither the wife or I have fallen in love with it as a drivers car, it’s just lacking something. It always puts a smile on your face when you look at it, sit in it, do a big family trip fully loaded, but as a drivers car..... nope. I’d suggest a test drive in either the GTS or turbo as the S is lacking something. I’m now seriously looking to get a proper drivers car as a 2nd car, short list is 718 GT4 (deposit paid, but not guaranteed), a 2020 quadrifoglio or a 991.2 GTS but that is starting to get perhaps too spendy...... we’ll see how the world goes over the next few months!

Thanks for feed back, my wifs car is a x6 4.0, and got enough grunt to put a smile on ya face , but also lacks something, plus the seats are uncomfortable IMO . The other brand I know very little about is Maserati.

Anyone every owned a new-ish one , what are they like?

I looked at the C63s when I got mine. It was probably the runner-up... But I drove it to the Alfa garage to let my wife drive the QV....but drove it first. The difference jumping from AMG to QV was so great, I ordered it that day.

The AMG was great, sounded lively and a great drive....but jumping into the QV it felt like jumping into a living animal...then going back into the AMG felt like a sofa.

Also had the M3 for a weekend, great, but drove heavy and really disappointing an normal speeds. Only when really giving it (illegal) beans did it come alive.

Neighbours brother has had a succession of AMGs RS, etc.... A Macan Turbo is the only car he's had two of. Must say something. For me though, and I've only driven GTS, it is a tall hot hatch in feel.

The Macan Turbo imo is the best small SUV but I have not driven the Alfa Stelvio QV which would probably be faster but maybe not a better ownership proposition!

I think you are probably correct....although the raw brutal appeal of a GLC63s would be tough to look past if a small SUV was in my sights wink

For me, if I'm going SUV, it's going to be a large chuck of metal. Partly for practicality, partly because of a guilty love of large trucks. I always hire an Escalade/Denali/Suburban when I visit my brother in the US. Technically they are crap, but they are a guilty pleasure.

And like others have said, I had horrendous experience with 3 different dealers, I am kind of lucky as I travel a lot with work so have always been able to try different dealers. Mine had the alarm sensor module replaced, 3 trips to a dealer to fix the turbo hose connector issue causing EML, and I had both rear anti roll bar drop links replaced.
I think I must be spoilt. My local Alfa dealer is a 10 minute drive from home or a 10 minute walk from work. Found Alexanders to be excellent in both sales and service, so much so my wife got a Stelvio Veloce delivered on Christmas Eve (after getting rid of a horrendous Jaguar E-Pace). I'm just considering what to replace my Giulia Veloce with in 18 months time or so and have been looking at electric but FCA don't really do anything suitable.

Yeah we have a Macan turbo. Bought used with 8k miles.

We test drove 2 new Stelvios and I thought it drove slightly better and was faster. But the interior was not anywhere near as good, for the other half having the local Porsche centre was a decider as Edinburgh doesnt have an Alfa dealer. If the car had been for me I would have preferred the Stelvio but happy she got the Macan as if we had had issues with the Stelvio I would have never heard the end of it.

Both a huge improvement over her old Evoque which I didnt like one bit.
