Had my late 2017 since last June with Celtic remap. Commuting and weekend "exuberance" doesn't cover it. No issues touch wood. 18,000 miles but big service done already.
So hard to know if lemon, luck or that's the last problem you'll have. I always drive my performance cars hard, after proper warming, I genuinely think they like what they were designed for.
Oh the S/S never worked and I never asked.

One thing I presume the big service came 3rd instead of 4th due mileage (I got mine early negotiated in sale)? No issue with high milers per se bar residuals seem unduly appraised lower than contemporaries. I believe overall reliability is above sector average.

How do you find the Celtic remap? Is the power up in all DNA modes?

I had my 68 plate QF in for its 20000 mile service at Vospers in Exeter. I can recommend them as very knowledgeable on the QF, with the lead mechanic having worked on them since release. A good discussion with him prior to and after the service is very reassuring. Prior to that I had a service at an Alfa dealer; Ital Autos in Angouleme France. All good there too.

I love it and Celtic offer great customer service which was a real relief after dealing with Alfa. It's balistic, the power to weight ratio puts it up with junior supercars and you can tell. Torque remains restricted by 40% in 1st and 2nd gear and fully available in race as per regular. The exhaust flaps open in D which is great but I don't know the affect on N or A, my guess is none but Celtic are always happy to chat, knowledgeable and have their own QV mule. I understand the standard racing map is quite different in stardard guise and I do wonder if more bhp is available in R but I won't be finding out on the road. I know plenty drive in R all the time but especially with the remap I won't unless on a track. Great bang for buck.

Thanks for the info. Get the PS4S warmed up and Race is fine on a dry day if you’re not being silly, although I would be cautious with an extra 100 ponies in the equation.

Possibly looking at a QF this week.
It’s a 2019 reg but I’m not sure when exactly it was registered.
Did these only come with a 3 year warranty, and what’s the cost of the warranty extension?
Thanks

Yes, 3 years as std. But they could be extended for up to 5 years by the first owner, but my understanding is that so many cars were pre-registered by the dealers most don’t have the extended warranty. Best to double check with the dealer you are talking to.

You can buy 2 years of extended warranty for used Giulias inc QF but not all dealers do it. LC Motors will do and I think D Salmon, might be one or two others. Usual caveats would apply of needing full service history and probably still in warranty when you extend, otherwise might require an inspection

There was a period where they came with 5 years warranty, I think it was around 2019.

Alfa are fickle as hell though, and change their promos as often as the wind changes.

Last year I bought a brand new MY19 car, which if registered when it was built (August 19) would have had 5 years warranty ... Also if it had been a MY20 when I bought it last Sept it would have come with a 5 year warranty.

But because Alfa discounted it (and a load of other MY19 cars) they decided they only wanted to offer a 3 year warranty ... Because obviously they've done too much for the customer already by giving a discount.

It's like their affinity scheme; give great big discounts to affiliated companies, public service etc, then absolutely sting them with pcensoredss poor uncompetitive APRs instead of offering the same finance rates as a non-affinity customer. In the case of a Quadrifoglio it knocks off another £4k-£5k, but is only a few quid cheaper per month if using finance.

With BMW's scheme they give a decent discount and use the same APRs, promotional or not, for any type of customer.

It's almost as if Alfa don't want to sell cars.

The car I’m looking at was reg Dec 2019 - would there be anything in the service book to indicate what warranty is on it?
The outcome could swing it for me - if there’s no 5 year warranty then I’ll probably walk on and look for another.

I looked at the Affinity scheme as the wife works for the NHS so looks like I’m eligible.
There’s a hefty chunk of cash off the car (about £10k) and an apr of 5.9 from what I can see.
I assume this is for a standard car though, with no options.

Pretty sure it's percentage based, so you'll get a little more if you spec it up.

So disappointing that it's not on 3.8% through the affinity scheme.

I'm not in the least bit surprised they don't offer cheap finance with Affinity.
At the end of the day there is no such thing as free lunch, there is a bottom line cost for a car which they won't go below. The total price the consumer pays can be made up how ever you like, but it wont change that bottom line.

My local dealer seemed to find a very spurious way of getting me on the Affinity scheme when I was pricing up a car (I'm pretty sure I didn't qualify). In the end I didn't buy but found a better deal elsewhere, with no mention of Affinity.

My online research suggests that there are two distinct discount schemes, intended for key workers and employees/members of participating organisations:
  • Privilege, for people using FCA's financial services, and
  • Affinity, for people who want to pay cash or arrange their own finance.
Here are a couple of links to old price lists that I found online: Privilege offers and Affinity.

NB: These price lists were only valid until 31st March, so things may well have changed, especially on the Privilege offers.

The headline is that you could get 17% off a MY20 Giulia Quadrifoglio up 'til the end of last month.
  • Retail price: £67,195
  • Affinity price: £55,573.40

Just had a flick through this thread as I'm test driving one this weekend and came here to ask a similar question to the OP.

The dealer has suggested that a new car could be here by Feb, which is quick, but I'm content to wait for it.

Depending on what spec you want, there's a few coming into stock here and there before Christmas.

FYI as with anything, all dealers can do the same discounts, but they don't. You will find massive price fluctuations.

I've found Beechdale Derby to consistently be the cheapest by some margin, followed by Research Garage Nuneaton. Saber at Nuneaton is amazing.

Derby have offered the best prices on Carwow so far.

There is very little to spec on the car, I'm not sold that the seats are worth the money.

Agreed.

Realistically now you've got a choice of 4 colours, 2 wheel types, 4 different caliper colours, then HK audio, assistance pack+ and the big ones ie carbon seats and brakes.

The rest are all carbon bits and pieces which look nice but don't add any value.

I was up there last week looking at the Competition red cars they had in. They lasted about 2 days. Absolutely stunning so I'm not really surprised.

New competition red cars? Or second-hand ones?

They were brand new, the orders went in before they stopped offering it as an option. Went within about 48 hours of them showing as available on Autotrader etc.

I was tempted by one of them, but due to the cost of the paint and carbon bits (and akra on one) it pushed them a bit above my budget.

Derby do seem to be the cheapest....but check with whoever your local dealer is.

Price difference to go with my local dealer far outweighed the hassle factor of dealing with a dealer many miles from home should there be problems (& this was during lockdown 3)

I went local, got great service and I think the difference was <£500 all in.

Make sure you confirm the all up cost or if there are any costs not included to drive it away (tax, fuel etc etc)
