Being lucky to gain a 7 day demo of the QF. I currently run a FType R Coupe fir comparison .

Only had 24 hours, but initial thoughts .

- Looks : for inside and external are different to all other 4 door saloon out there, for that I like, it feels different .

- Emgine : lovely delivery of 500 bhp. The torque delivery seems unusual in first and second gear but engine is a cracker .

- exhaust : sounds great, just wish it was full flap open mode on Dynamic .

- chassis : excellent. Front end grip is fantastic, . Rear grip very progressive, although not getting as much feel as I find from front.

- gearbox : not great in auto to be honest (apart from race mode) but excellent in Manuel .

- Steering - excellent , one of the best in a saloon.

I’m starting to leave it in race mode, suspension on bumpy and gearbox manual.

I’ll feed back further next week once more drive time .

Just be VERY careful in this cold weather if it's still on the Corsas. They need a fair bit of heat in to grip. If it's cold and wet then forget Race mode.

It’s 2-4c today. It’s on Corsa’s but not that bad in Race mode. After 15 min getting some heat into tyres it’s just usable in Race mode. The front end is very tied down , back end loose on full throttle first and second gear.
I’m running a F Type R 2WD as daily so frankly used too car trying to find a ditch all the time, but love having to feeling for grip and respecting power.

One comment, I feel sick after 30 min drive, happened a couple of times now, not sure if it’s the slow speed areas where it’s not smooth driving.

Maybe try softening the suspension a level when in Race. Just press the suspension button on the DNA selector.

Coming to the end of my 7 day trial. Not ideal temperatures plus covering of snow with sub zero temperature mist the day . I’ve kept it in race mode past couple of days. On Corsa’s Is certainly is tricky but quite drivable . The front end grip and feel is so good, the power delivery allows you to play so easily. I just couldn’t do this in my F Type.

A couple of days in I wasn’t really thinking this is a car I could buy into, loved the cat but just not me. Don’t need 4 door saloon and don’t have Alpha itch to scratch. I’ve started looking at classifieds today!!, I’ve thoriughly enjoyed driving this wonderful saloon, not perfect but so much character . Really like Soatco buckets too

If you like it now in this weather on Corsas you'll be blown away when it gets warm. They're incredibly sticky in warm weather.
Report back once you've bought one!

I am at the moment looking at both the Giulia and Stelvio QV and they are organising a test drive.
First impressions is I prefer the look of the saloon much more but the practicality of the Stelvio.
The big stumbling block is the interior which is a bit of a let down,I know I know it’s about the driving but you still have to sit in it.

Some good discounts available on CarWow but if anyone knows of good deals... driving

I found the interior better in the Saloon rather than Stelvio, it may not be as good as German brands but it feels sporty and well detailed .

The carbon seats certainly help. Do the non carbon standard seats feel much different to carbon buckets? There are very few used cars with carbon buckets

I love the interior of my QF! It has the standard seats and green & white stitching, it just looks the db's. I've sat in RS4, M3 and C63 and don't think them interiors are any better. The seats are crap in the German's for starters, and the C63 has far too many shiny knobs for my liking. I wouldn't change my QF for any of them. And at the end of the day, I'm looking out through glass enjoying the amazing drive and steering feel. I work in IT and stare enough at a laptop screen all day and don't want my car to emulate an IPAD

But you know that's why there is so much choice, because we are all different...
