Im seeking some buying and owning advice on this car in the 1.7 petrol engine version.
I understand in 2015 it was badged as a quadrifoglio verde, and it 2016 it was rebadged a Veloce ? I noticed the grill changed but dont know if any other changes happened ?
These 2 years fall into my budget range for alow mileage car. (circa £15K)

My limited research has indicated there are no real horror stories with this car, but regular oil changes using the corect oil are essential.
My local garage, Alfa Aid in Maidnehad have one on the forcourt which Ive sat in, but the sales guy said they only give test drives if your a serious buyer (fair play I guess) so Ive never driven the car yet, but it seemed comfortable inside for my 6'4" frame. No leg room behind me tho !

I always drive auto's by choice, but Ive never tried one of these modern auto 'boxes. Came close to buying a 147 many years ago but the selespeed stories put me off.

Happy to read any comments from the more informed Alfa fans here before I decide.

Thanks

Hello pcn 1
I have a 2015 Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde.I had heard when they bought out the Giulia QV the dropped it on the Giulietta.
The Veloce, as you say has a different triangle grill and a few different external trim and interior trim tweaks. I believe the engine and everything else is the same.
Ive had mine two and a bit years now. The gearbox failed on mine and I was nearly out of Warranty. I took mine to Snows at Portsmouth and they where brilliant. I had a new gearbox and they did a few other things under warranty. This was a year ago and its now perfect. I have been told I was just very unlucky, the bill was just shy of £8,000 so im happy it was under warranty!
That beside, the car is brilliant. The inside is lovely and the gearbox is fantastic however the star is the engine, very fast and just so responsive and the sound is great.
I wasnt sure about having an automatic however I wouldnt go back to Manual now.I use Autolusso for my sevicing and as you say the oil is important,I have mine changed every 6,000 miles. Cant help with height as I am only short!
The Alfa Aid one is nice. You really should drive one.
Harry Metcalfe on you tube does a very fair review against a Golf Gti is worth a look.
I hope this helps a bit.

I have the later 'facelifted' Veloce 1750 which as has been said means slight trim differences as well as the front grille. The engine is exactly the same as before which, after 2014, has the same alloy block as in the 4C.

The Alfa Aid one is a nice one and they look after mine and give a great service so you shouldn't go wrong their.

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I won't suffer a failed 'box banghead

Just out of interest what is your driving "style" and what average mpg are you getting ? Do you just leave it in auto, or work it of the paddles ?
Apart from the very occasional spirited drive I tend to just cruise around, stick to the limits and dont thrash my cars. Im what youd call mechanically sympathetic driving

Sounds a nice car xyyman.Has it been good?
Pcn 1 , I have just had a look at the car and it says average 24.4 mpg. Its has done 52,000 miles and my wife drives it mostly and its a twenty miles round trip four days a week. The journey is mostly five miles dual carrigeway and the remainder normal town roads. My wife always leaves it in dynamic mode or Grrrrrrr mode as she calls it. She loves the car and the gearbox and wont let me change it for anything else, not that I could think of anything to replace it with apart from a Giulia QV. As you can tell from the mpg she doesnt hang around.
I also drive it in auto and just flick the paddles if I want to however I find the gear change that good I hardly use them. I drive to Scotland and South of France a lot and mainly have it in dynamic(Grrrrrr mode) and i drive it hard I guess and I think I sometimes get 32mpg.Im sure if you put it in N mode and are gentle ish you will achieve much, much better, we drive it for the smiles it gives and not the mpg it gives.
I wouldnt worry about the gearbox, as I was told I was very unlucky. My independant could of fixed it a lot,lot cheaper however it was under warranty.
There are some nice ones on autotrader, I prefer the teledial wheels however thats just my opinion.
