Friend of mine has a Giulia QV and two girls under 5 and also copes fine, including the pram. They all went to the South of France last summer, so its possible for long trips. His previous 'family' cars had been a GTV 3.2 and an Alfa GT, so he must be a master at packing the boot!
Nice one thank you!

Any of the Guilia Quad owners had much trouble with scraping the front carbon splitter? Any options out there for protecting the splitter or mitigating the risks? Love the splitter but a bit concerned that a tiny slip up could result in a rather nasty bill.

Hi there,

Not sure what you will decide, but I am indeed going for it smile

We've got a very little one (1 month old) and have been trying few times to get around with my current car, an Audi TT mk2. Obviously a lost battle... so I decided to get a new car, but really not a fan of SUVs. The Giulia is the only one that really calls me, so I'll go for it. Probably a Veloce though, don't have budget for QV!

Good luck,
A

Hi there! Congratulations on your new arrival.

I'm very keen indeed, and like you the Giulia is the only current car that really excites and interests me - I'm a little concerned about the delicacy of that front splitter as it will be a well used daily and from past experience I know that with the best of intentions it'll soon get old constantly worrying about scraping it... Tough one!

The front splitter isn't delicate, it's pretty thick carbon fibre after all.
Just don't smash it into a speed bump and you'll be fine. Stop worrying, get one and enjoy it!

One other thing to consider about the Giulia is its safety record, it passed all tests at the top of its class, a very safe car to be in.

This! Someone on Pistonheads managed with child and pram in a Jaguar XK... convertible, if I recall. There are very few cars that you can't make work with a baby. It's only a question of whether you want to.

The Giulia will do the job and may well be a decision you appreciate once the child is out of the pram and you get most of your boot back too.

EDIT: And maybe aim more for the Ariel Atom end of the pram scale than the Rolls Royce end hehe

Hopefully buying a veloce this week - so excited. I’m like a kid at Christmas.

Hoping like hell I can fit my gravel bike in it somehow.

I got 2 650b MTB's (wheels off) plus associated bike gear and luggage for 2 for a weekend away in my Giulia Veloce. Far from the best car I've had, but versatile enough.

2 kids and an Abarth 595 here. Can fit a Mountain Buggy Nano pushchair in the boot.

I've had all my snowboarding gear in the car, with the baby seat still fitted as well.

For daily duties, babies are do-able in any car if you really want it to work. Kids do not automatically mean SUV.

(My OH does have a Focus ST estate which we use for the camping trips with a roof box though!)

I got a set of those Kjust bags. They're superb.
Managed to get luggage for 4 people for 2 week trip to Italy in the boot of the Quadrifoglio.
