Morning all.

Well, after waiting 1hr 20mins to get out of the carpark at Goodwood yesterday, we were faced with an extremely slippy grass hill to get up. When it was my turn to get through the exit gate, we endured about 10 seconds of wheelspin trying to get up the slope. Nothing too serious, although we did slide to the right a bit.

However, once at the top, both the ABS and brake circuit warning lights came on and stayed on. Once home, I switched off the engine and tried it again 30 mins later, hoping that things may have reset themselves. The "brake" warning light is now gone, although the ABS light is still there

Now, I'm a mechanical numpty, but do you think this could just be a sensor that got covered in mud and grass? Anyone else had anything similar?

Braking seems fine and the handbook indicates as such (although no ABS obviously).

I'm intending to take it to my friendly mechanic next week to check it out (not an Alfa dealer, sorry PWIG!!!), but any thoughts are welcome.

BTW, the new 159 and Brera are :cloud9:

Cheers all

Paul

Hurrah! The power of Pistonheads......just been out for a quick drive, and the ABS light has decided to stay in bed!!!! All back to normal now, although it needs a darn good clean to get all that Goodwood grass 'n mud off.

Italian cars, don't ya just love 'em?

I would imagine the brakes etc may have got a wee bit hot, esp if you had the TC on as that's how it works, maybe sending some pretty serious errors to the ECU, which over time it has learnt aren't permanent and cancelled them.

Just a guess and there are only two types of cars that ever fix themselves, British and Italian!!

That's why I love 'em.
