I have recently bought a Fiat coupe 20v, what a car!! Only trouble is the brake hoses need replacing and I want to replace them with steel braded ones and nowhere seems to stock them. The car has the Brembo brake system. Apparently Goodridge and Black Diamond have stopped making them. Does anyone know of any other companies that make them for this car???

not too sure if i can help you dude, but come over to the dark side..www.fccuk.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?Cat=. If you can't get your answer there, it ain't worth knowing.

Some of them have forgotten more than i know about the coupe.

if i recall correctly, there was case of the goodridge braided hoses failing on someone (Nigel i think on the fccuk forum) whilst he was doing a fair old lick. I may well be wrong though so don't quote me on that.

Oh and congrats on the purchase, but why not the warp drive boombastic turbo man?

I think he does, cos the n/a doesn't have Brembos ....

Take a look on that forum, they often run group buys on stuff like brake hoses. Failing that, get in touch with Alternative Autos (search for the phone number on the site, should be easy enough to find).

Cheers for the info, i'll check out the web site. And yes it is a Turbo i've got , forgot to mention that crucial info in the original posting!
I've wanted one of these for ages and i'm really pleased with it. Always had Alfa's before but fancied a Fiat heard they were really good. Tried an Alfa GTV first and wasn't a patch on the Fiat.

Cheers

braided lines alway split on the road 20vts, they need regular inspection, I had some made up, the fittings are m10, for -3 hose you need about 30cm in length.

As long as they're inspected and changed every 3-4 years, the OEM hoses should be fine.
Probably get better pedal feel by ensuring you regularly change the brake fluid?
