Hi,i`m a new member i have a alfa 156t-spark
every time i go over a bump from the front sides of the car a very
irritating squeking noise can be heard i have lubricated the area.
o/k for awhile then comes back .i hear its a common problem with alfa`s
what is is & can u help?

Sounds like worn bushes in the wishbones. These should be replaced at service time. Whent the bushes wear enough to squeak it is likely that there is metal on metal contact on the wishbones. As these are manufactured from aluminium the result is rapid wear. I'm afraid you'll probably need new wishbones.

Although ours needed track control arm bush replacement.

I've just replaced my wife's 156's lower front wishbones for the same reason - a squeaking noise over bumps. Interestingly, the noise came back after a couple of days! I gave the new lower wishbones (and the existing upper ones) a good spraying with Halfrauds finest rubber and nylon lubricating spray and it now seems to be OK - or at least has been for a month or so!
