Is this the usual standard from an Alfa Dealer

Hmmm sounds like an idiot salesman - not a poor dealer.
Still, at this point I'd personally recommend SGT in taplow as they've been really helpful.
Popped in this am to get the mog exhaust switched for a more rorty one, and off hand enquired about the brera. No sooner had I done so than the car was opened up for me and they left me to happily poke about the interior. I hate being pushed by sales staff and they were happy to let me nose about with no pressure.
(One I looked at was a petrol manual in black with geay / black interior - looks the business).
Have to say it feels seriously well put together, and I love the ally dash - the turbo boost guage and the starter button(? looks like a starter button !).
If I was in the market for a 2+2 like a TT then I'd have to give it serious thought - it's like a pretty TT really - no room in the back as such, but it's beautifully put together, massive boot as well I noticed. Best bit are the headlights though - real design perfection IMHO

2 weeks ago I got a call from Alfa Romeo asking me to test drive a Brera. We agreed it would be on the 8th at my local dealer. I have complained about this dealer to Alfa HQ in the past, but I thought on this occasion a test drive can't be too hard for them to do.
How wrong was I?
We turned up to a clipbard-wielding representative, who was taking bookings for the day. They knew nothing of the pre-arranged test drive, so we were put into a queue. After about 45 minutes of waiting around, I asked when we might get our test. "Oh, you can't test it today, as we're fully booked". "So what am I waiting around for?". "Just to talk to our salesman". "Thank you and good bye."
Jesus wept.
LOL, whilst writing this, they have just phoned me to ask if I want to have a test drive in the new Brera! PMSL!
