I would love a new Fiat 500. If it goes anything like my N Reg Cinquecento Sporting then it has to be good.
I'll be honest , I'd never rated Fiats much, my grandfather had a Fiat 2100 that he imported from Ghana in the 60's and although it went like a bat out of hell and was very comfortable, the rust had to be seen to be believed. Mind you, he did live down a country lane that was a route for the cows every time they went for milking, so the cow dung rapidly dissolved the bodywork.
But my opinion changed when I was introduced to Richard Beaty of www.wolfdirectracing.com who builds Fiats for racing.
He let me loose in a Fiat Punto challenge car that he built on a track day at Brands Hatch, and his own 600M Seicento, and I was smitten.
He then let me loose at Cadwell in a Seicento 600M 16 valve on hayabusa TB's that will do over 140 mph .
Who said fiats weren't interesting????
