156 Misfire

Morning - as the heading suggests my much looked after 156 has developed a misfire on cylinder 1. (156 2001 2.0Ltr TS)

I've put in a full set of plugs, had the leads checked, and a new coil pack for cylinder one........and it's still misfiring!

I've even tried changing the coil packs with other cylinders to make sure the new one wasn't faulty.

So my thinking is that it's a valve seat problem? My thinking is to get a compression test, then that will prove it's mechanical rather than electrical?

could be a hydro lifter has failed. as you say do compression test
