Just a warning to anyone looking to buy a 20v turbo from the Crawley area.
There is a black one currently advertised (not on PH) that sounds too good to be true....it is. Looked at it over the weekend and NO oil was showing anywhere on the dipstick.

Where is the car advertised? Have you posted this on the FCCUK Forum as well, so people are aware?
Neal
Its on Autotrader.
The seller saw me picking my jaw up off the floor after I'd checked the oil and asked if everything was alright.
I wish I had not said anyhting because the next person to see it is probably going to think it looks a nice car.
Its advertised as being 'maintained regardless of cost'
The worrying thing is the ad reads like they know what they are talking about.
Unless it really is swilling oil I'd guess its been running below the minimum for 1,000 miles +.

I'm told that the difference between min and max on a 20Vt dipstick is 1 litre, and that its not unusual for them to get through 1 litre every 1000 miles. They also have to bee checked when the engine is warm (10mins after shut down, and on level ground. However mine seems to get throught less than this, and I do check the oil pretty regualrly. (never had it disappear off the dipstick completely.)
Do you happen to know what oil pressure it was showing when hot? They are ok, provided its above 1.2 bar at idel I think. Should be off the scale when moving.
ETA, the fact that he's asked if everything was alright suggests the oil is never checked in between services. They also have to bee checked when the engine is warm (10mins after shut down) and on level ground.
