You can see the T350 in the rear quarter especially when viewed in profile. There are similar design cues, the way the tail drops almost vertically with a very short overhang, the venturi syle tunneling and the teardrop rear window. The headlamp arrangements have some similarities also. Stil darn sexy though and so what if there has been some design influence? When has a car not been influenced by something that went before it?

I was gonna suggest the resemblence to the Startos as well.

VERY VERY nice.

At the end of the day who cares what it might look a little bit like?

If you ask me it looks more than a little bit like a very gorgeous car.

oh come on

That's no 350.

BTW Alfa forgot the cheesegrater at the back, the italians could use is though for some extra parmesan

I can only see a vague overall resemblance to the T350, dictated by the fact they're both front engined, rear drive, two seater, fastback coupes that have been through a wind tunnel. And they happen to have similar alloys.

Look at the detailing instead. The vertical twin headlights are classic Alfa, they were doing that long before TVR (Tipo 33, etc) while the rear is pure Tipo 33.

Oh, and it's yummy..I want one!

I think you have it the wrong way round. TVR's and others get their design cues from Alfa, think of the history involved. Alfa have been making cars like this for a very long time. Actually i think the real inspiration can be found on the right hand side of this image

Personally I think its (the cars that is) forms are little to exaggerated and could use some more grace and elegance. But it is classic Alfa, bring it on!

If she doesn't fall apart at the first sign of h2o....then I'll take one...maybe park it next to the Jag R-D6, one for each day with a "y" in it.....just for shopping of course !!

Only just noticed this thread...what a stunner!!!

"If" it makes it to production (fingers-crossed) then do you reckon they'll keep the 4.2 or go soft and shove something smaller into it?

How much do you reckon it'll cost? I think more than a boxster but not quite as much as a 911. Good ballpark to be in possibly.

My guess is that they'll keep the 4.2, as the chassis & engine are straight out of the Masser 4200GT. Keeps life simple at productionizing (sp?) time.

{edited to add:} I'm sure I read somewhere that they were talking about a ~£60k price tag.

I'm seriously considering a GTV, although I just accepted a new job where the money is almost 2/3rds of what I was expecting, so looks like new car plans are on hold for the minute. Cheers for replying to the thread - The GTV is now at the top of my test-drive list

p.s. I think they said £60K for the Brera concept, I hope this one's less so that I can see more of them driving about!

Don't know, but I just found a place which will pump me full of HIV drugs or anti-depressants for a grand and a half a session. Give it a year and it'll be mine!

It looks most like the T33 Stradale to me, probably my all-time favourite car design. I love Alfas but I prefer the look of those 60's sports racers to anything else, which is why I've got a TVR Griffith (sorry - Alfa stopped making anything like this long ago). Look forward to seeing the 8C on sale.

Yeah, not bad looking - but check out the wing mirrors. Blimmin' Italian build quality, they can't even line them up

It's all gone a bit quiet on the 8C news. I thought Alfa were going to produce a spyder version for the Tokyo show, but didn't see anything in the motoring press.

I really hope it goes into production, as when my numbers come up, I want one of these parked next to my Aston V8 Vantage in my dream garage.
