Any Alfa Fans?

Can't say I'm a huge fan, but I've raced against enough of them to know that they are damn quick cars. There was a sud Ti in our series this year that was only marginally slower than the 355 Challenge that eventually took the championship. Most of the cars are 33s and 75s as they are the most recent of the RWD models. Seriously unimpressed with the modern FWD range (driven the 145, 146 and 147)
Often been sorely tempted to buy one but can't quite bring myself to do it...

Loosely a fan, by rights I should hate them , as I had an old original sud Ti ,[rose-tinted-spec-mode-on] still have a soft spot for them myself [rose-tinted-mode-off].
Wish they made a flat 6 though and not the V, as the old flat 4 was sweet.

Eh? The Alfa V6 is the sweetest motor in the history of the universe!
P.S. I've got a 33 16V P4 for sale if anyone is interested...
Despite, during 6 months of ownership, the abject incompetence of the dealership, the execrable build quality, the total abscence of any response by Alfa whatsoever to reams of letters pertaining to the above, I loved my 166. It had style, soul and a heart with its Latin roots bellowed forth by an exhaust note from the chorus at La Scala overlaid with a howl from the depths of hell (and the occasional muffled clatter when something fell off).
It wasn't 'transport' in any meaningful sense, but it was a thing of utter beauty.
I may be cut out to be a TVR driver

Wouldn't happen to be orange and black would it? Makes a wonderful noise and it is damn quick
I have had 4 alfas and still have a 1988 1.7 sprint, the best was a 1996 wide body V6 155, amazing engine, great handling and very good reliability. It did 86K miles being thrashed round scottish back roads, including track days at Knockhill and the only major fault was a failed crankshaft position sensor, I only sold it because I needed more space.
