Here's my 156 Twinny, taken a while back, as I've made a few improvements since ( One obvious one being a fresh shiny new badge at the front!).

Pretty. Looks strangely more modern than a lot of the latest metal. An iconic design really but I am biassed.

Moved house recently and finally get to use the GTV6 alongside the HF turbo - great stablemates.

this is the GTV6 non original engine (from a 147/156 GTA running at 300bhp and under 1000kg - pretty nimble even if I say so myself.

Just upgraded to the open roof version last month. Noise is so much better without the roof.

Randomly (after 6 years of ownership) found a couple of videos of mine on YouTube - I suspect posted by the previous owner.

Blimey!

Does it "just drop in", or is there a lot of work to make the 24 valve fit?

Quite a bit of work making things fit: custom radiator, coolant pipes, re-jigged inlet manifold; most of the work was done in South Africa where the car raced and Alex Jupe did most of the final bits to make it a bit more civilised for the road - raised the suspension, quieter exhaust, etc.

It is an absolute blast to drive and just wants to go! Here is the original build specification as i bought it:

http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1409360198...

if you look at its lap times at Zwartkops in south Africa (1:14 sec) on the following table it will give you some indication as to how fast this car is!

http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/zwartkops

Faster than Sabine Schmitz in an M3 is good enough for me! Bearing in mind it is old skool RWD with no electronics to assist like the others on the list.

Love the 145

Watching one on eBay at the moment to replace my Fiat Bravo HLX

I wonder if the 2.5 V6 and Veloce six speed box from my 156 Wagon...

...would fit? wink

Almost seems a shame, its sublime for a 4cyl. A 6 speed would be very nice though.

The best place for a v6 in the 145 would be behind the driver...Clio style...

Just putting it out there, would anyone in be wanting to sell their V6 156/GT might even consider a 156/147 GTA if it's within budget. Fire me an email (via my profile) regretted selling my 2.5 V6 156 and I'm pining for one again!

No "for sale" posts on the forum but the job I bought this car to be a comfy commuter to has fallen though so she could be surplus in the near future.

This arrived on Thursday, had one when I was 23 and this one feels even more special now than back then. The polo in the pic is nice enough but the Alfa is a totally different animal, properly chuffed.

It is noisy though...

Very nice! It's like it just keeps looking better as the years go by, timeless design. Also that Busso noisecloud9
