Love it Hutticane. I’ve got the twin https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...My 147 Q2 at Cheddar Gorge last summer.
My dear daily driver MK2 8V Golf died again 16 months ago. Urgently needed something to replace it for commuting. Had to be Italian, preferably red, from the 80's and petrol. Ok, that's 2 out of 4 then.
Hated the diesel engine from the moment I test drove it - still do (sorry other JTD drivers - WHY didn't Alfa do a petrol Q2!!!) - although it is alot quicker than some other road users expect... But 4 seasons of British weather later and I love the 147. Does a prettier 3 door hatch exist...?
Love looking at it, and if I squint hard enough I can pretend it's a GTA. From the door handles up anyway.
It has been fairly fuss free(ish) too. Apart from the dreaded clutch pedal pin faliure on the outside lane of the M5 travelling home from Burnham-on-Sea back to North Wales last year. Just what you need with wife and 4 month old sprog in the back.
Downsides? Bit tight on space from the front seats back; it's a swirl flapping, exhaust gas recirculating diesel.
Upsides? Everything else - a great rare car for hardly any money.
P.s, if the wagon driver that stopped 3 lanes of traffic and helped me push her onto the hard shoulder is reading this, I owe you a pint or 20.

Moved house recently and finally get to use the GTV6 alongside the HF turbo - great stablemates.
this is the GTV6 non original engine (from a 147/156 GTA running at 300bhp and under 1000kg - pretty nimble even if I say so myself.
A Lancia Delta HF turbo....now there is a stone cold classic. Keep on top of the structure and they are one of the sweetest things ever.this is the GTV6 non original engine (from a 147/156 GTA running at 300bhp and under 1000kg - pretty nimble even if I say so myself.
