frown Gutted for you. I had a really near miss with flooding five years ago, another two inches of water or so is all it would have taken, you could see the tide mark on the sills. It’s a really helpless feeling seeing the water creeping up and not a thing you can do about it.
No warning whatsoever, I came back from waking the dog at 1413 and was calling 999 knee deep in water in my dining room at 1431

Have any Alfa owners gone from 156 V6 2.5 to 159 V6?

A diesel is really a goer for me and I don’t know how much longer the 156 will last. It’s dying a slow death by a thousand cuts.
And it’s time to go.

The 2.5 SW has been replaced (Octavia VRS) so I’ve got to move it on now although after cosmetic write off last summer it’s basically worth buttons. I really don’t want to but it’s become too unreliable to rely on.

Hopefully in a few years I can look at a GTV to keep that Alfa V6 itch scratched.

That’s two 156W gone in a week 😢 I’ve bought a V70 as the instant canine transport, luckily GTV & Spider are stored elsewhere so they’re ok

It's just getting a bit long in the tooth for what I do and lots of little fiddly bits that need sorting that I do not have time to deal with. Plus obviously the cosmetic write off, a big dent in the rear 3/4. Little bits include a slight oil leak at the front, rear wiper doesn't work, rear electric windows don't work, air con isn't blowing cold anymore. Oh and just to top it off it starting misfiring last week although I suspect that's a coil pack and I'll get that looked at first. If it wasn't my main car I'd keep it but I need a reliable family daily and I don't have the space to keep a 3rd project.

I certainly wouldn't modify such an early example,

Unspoiled examples of that year are extremely rare and desirable.

Its not going anywhere yet, MOT until April for now and I won't be looking for very much for it. I would so much rather it went to someone who had the time to look after it properly that I don't have, it's a lovely car. Stay in touch.

ETA: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... That was then.

This is now.

Unfortunately minicabs can't take corners apparently.

Lets see how this pans out. I am having to get rid of the 159 as having to get something insurable for my son to use too....... but this is triggering so much want.......... bearing in mind I also have a Sprint project to complete too............Need to get the man maths calculator out.

I've dropped you an PM although I have just noticed that you are based in Scotland whilst I am based in Plymouth so it might be a little difficult logistically!

It’s time to....say goodbye....

Sorted the misfire, Cat D, MOT until April but I can’t justify keeping another car when I don’t even have a driveway.

No idea what it’s worth but I think I might literally shed a tear when it goes. I will own an Alfa V6 again, oh yes.

Hopefully mine isn’t dead, just going to someone with a bit time to love it properly.
