Replaced my Vesuvio Grey Quadrifoglio with a new Etna Red (same as the GTA/M). I was dubious at first that it could be too gaudy, but in the sunshine it really shines
I see you frequent here as well as Alfa Owner! I definitely prefer the etna over the vesuvio.

I like but tell me more please. Is that a standard bonnet or has it been fettled to fit some huge lump of engine underneath? I ask not only because of the scoop but also what appear from that picture to be some odd panel gaps.

South African GTV6 3.0, I believe. It appears to have the bonnet scoop, red bumper strip, front air dam and Compomotive wheels of a genuine SA 3.0. This model was a homologation special for the SA touring car series, with a 6-carbed 3.0.

Exactly. Fibre glass bonnet with bulge designed to accommodate the 6 x dellorto carbs. A few other subtle factory mods from standard 2.5 such as 3 core radiator, front air dam and so on.

This is no 34 of 208 built - we have ~8 cars in the UK, similar number in Oz, and the odd ones in NZ and Europe. There are ~55 cars known to survive.

it is 100% the standard 3.0 bonnet - it's fibreglass and the busso V6 has 6x Dellorto FRPA downdraft carburettors instead of fuel injection - there are several reasons they changed to carbs as the car was homologated for racing in South Africa The panel gaps with respect ot the bonnet shut line are typical of a GTV6 3.0.

You can see mine has the same bonnet features!

I do indeed :-) Says you're based on Surrey, where about? We have a decent South East based Quadrifoglio group who have some decent runs out. You'd be very welcome to join us

My Alfa was on The Cars Years ITV4 last night up against a Lotus Cortina, battling for 1963, worth a watch

Here's mine smile

I am in the middle of replacing a lot of metal. Rockers, lower front and rear wings, front end of the middle sill, various folded metal around the A pillar/ sills.

The last one is the front lower, awaiting the welds to fix the bottom and door frame.

Lots of nasty air and metal

Both my cats are coded, so they have been assisting

I managed to form the end cap/ box section from a single piece of metal. That took an inordinate amount of time.

Top run of weld done, and amazingly, it is all straight.

So a flat on a brand new tyre that was fitted Friday! Gutted is an understatement I must have hit a pothole or drain cover on the way home from the tyre fitters!

This has prompted me to book it in for paint work, a wheel refurb (just the one thats currently off as had them done 2 months ago), cambelt and waterpump and then a proper clean once that's all complete. Will cost a fair amount but the cars been great and I want to keep it for a while yet!

Running all season tyres and have been really happy with them, great for the mix of driving the car does.
