Nice!

Can you believe someone stole mine? I still can’t believe it, I never saw it as high risk frown it was a 96 P-reg. I really liked the soft suspension.

Nice. I’ve a K24 EG. I love it. Fast, cheap and easy to work on.
Attracts the most positive attention of any car I’ve owned including cosworths, Focus RS, STI etc. Always a conversation starter when people see it at shows and trackdays.

Great work. Good to see people still doing B swaps in EJ9’s! I did mine nearly 20 years ago!!!

My first Honda was a B swapped EJ9, had 14 Hondas in total and now have a supercharged EP3. Welcome along!

Agreeing with all the above... Great work thumbup

I've had a few B16s (EG6 SiR-S, EK9) as well the K20 in a DC5; fantastic engines and great cars

Will watch this thread cool

I’m in.

I’ve wanted a white Type R or the Jordan for best part of 20 years.

Yours looks like a great project and I’m glad you’ve gone down the B series route rather than another K swap. Any reason you didn’t go B18?

Would a h22 from a Prelude fit into one of these?

Short answer: yes

Long answer: yes, but with lots of messing about. B series is dead easy as it’s virtually bolt in and plug and play. The H22 never came in a civic chassis so will go in but with custom mounts etc. IIRC they use an OBD1 style wiring harness rather than the OBD2 system in EK chassis cars so it’s a custom wiring loom. A K20 swap is arguably easier and possible cheaper now, A H22 engine is a rare beast these days (especially as you really want the H22A7 to make it at all worthwhile, a H22A5 from a 5th Gen Lude is ‘only’ 185bhp)

Im all over this build, really looking forward to seeing its progress.

I wish I’d snapped up a little EK / EJ Civic before they all shot up in price. I owned the H22a8 Prelude, currently own a Prem’ EP3 / K20, but think I’ve missed a trick not experiencing a B series motor and now can’t see me affording a decent one. Would love to do like you and create my own. Keep the updates coming!

Good write-up thanks for sharing your progress cool

Had a K20 EG a few years ago and looked at buying a base EJ hatch last year as there were a few "rust free, low mileage" examples about. Mad the scene tax on them now - £3-4k for a bog standard 1.5 D series eek

Look forward to seeing further updates with your car! Saves me having to buy my own... paperbag

Lovely car, the sportiest generation of civics, used to have a 1.4. Not the fastest of cars but definitely one of the best handling, it was a lot of fun to drive. Love what you've done so far, kutgw! :-)

These are my absolute favourite Civics, such good clean lines & just look the part for a sporty JDM hatch.

Rich kid at my school got given one of the 1.6 VTi Vtec hatches at 17 at the start of the year. Jammy bd as it wasn't just a great first and new car it was a great car full stop.

I haven't seen a VTi or a Jordan for a long time..

My green one needs a wee bit of work on the back arches like most.
Yes they are starting to get expensive, but i had to get one to relive my youth before they became silly money.
Not many Genuine VTi’s left on the road never mind Jordan’s.

Glad you got it sorted. I did my B16 conversion using a loom that had been sliced in half with a cutting disc when the engine was removed. I paid an auto electrician £50 and he got the whole thing back together and it worked faultlessly!
