M-Dynamic a bit crap?
Discussion
I think that's what it is called. The setting that is supposed to allow a bit of slip but not too much. Doesn't seem to allow barely any slip on the M3. I had set it up so in M mode it was sport + power, almost full whack on gearshift aggression and m-dynamic for the traction. I must be doing something wrong because it's not allowing me any slip at all before cutting almost all the power.
It's much better with DSC completely off

Agree I never really used MDM on mine either...I found it far more enjoyable with the traction fully off...the rears don't last that long though!
The MDM set up is a nice halfway house though if you do want some security and my bro in law thought I was mad driving mine with traction off everywhere and I said why? your right foot controls what`s happening so the nanny state electronics are not really needed.

I have a long section of slippery shiny cobbled road with 3 traffic lights on it for my daily school run. I find the MDM is the perfect setting for launching off from standstill with just enough wheel spin to stop taxis and 4x4s taking me out at every traffic light.
As its only obtainable through the M button settings, I sadly need to press three other buttons to get fully hardcore with the car.
Can anyone feel the difference between sport and sport plus? I frankly can't.

Don't think I've even tried the sport power mode. Not sure why it is even necessary in fact. I'm of the belief there should be two settings at most, normal and banzai, balls out full M trickery mode. Does anyone know what (if any) the power differences are supposed to be between the three modes?
I have to agree - can feel very little difference between Power and Power+ on the throttle map. I have a 2012 e92 Comp and I would disagree with the OP in that I do find MDM useful. With the DSC at standard then it all too quickly senses slip and cuts power to control traction - even to the extent that you can feel it over hump back bridges. However with the semi off MDM setting it allows a fair degree of slip and wheel spin and eliminates that traction control nannying. Not sure whether the Comp pack cars are different in that respect but that is certainly how mine works
