Panerai Journey
Discussion
Having been introduced to Panerai way back in 2003 by a mate who said he thought they might be re-emerging I always loved the strong DNA and military association and despite having had many other brands in a plethora of styles I always find myself coming back to the Pam, been a great journey so far and long may it continue. No doubt once the boutique opens in London this year the UK awareness will increase (probably with the price) but I think Panerai are now settling down and learning hard and fast from any previous mistakes to deliver some absolute belters to compliment any watch collection.
Haters and slaters need not apply, lovers and droolers enjoy but a small selection of past and present.

Thanks for that, some lovely photographs. Colleague at work has a Pan (can't remember which model off the top of my head - but does have the SS bracelet) and it's a substantial watch to say the least. Pricing though does ensure they compete with other manufactures such as Rolex, VC and JLC and I can't say that if I was in sufficient funds I'd chose a Panerai over that little lot.

Ello, 100thmonkey. I take it you're the same one from that watch forum?
More overspill from Eddies grown ups forum. Welcome Monkey, to P.H.W.S no sycophant ars3 licking required here, enjoy.
You may find some humour/banter/no conformist views here, you may not be used to this, just imagine you have made a wrong turn in your local and you've ended up in the Public Bar rather that the Members Snug.
Nemisis-village idiot.
Thanks, Haymarket.
Used to be a fan of Panerai but was quite disappointed by their pricing policy of absolutely zero discounts.
Went in to a shop in NYK and later into their flagship boutique in Florence with cash in hands, and they refused to give me any sort of discount. It turned me right off given their (at the time) lack of a real reputation as an "establishment brand".
Went for a JLC instead.

Lovely collection, thanks for the pictures.
Love Panerai's. Am currently close on adding a PAM312 but not agreed on the value of a PAM0098 I want to trade.
Have you bought any additional non-official Panerai straps & any recommendations?
Edd
In Uk I think Richard Beard http://toshi-straps.co.uk/ is one of the finest, overseas I have had stuff from Jabba & Gunny, both alright but long wait, so I stick to UK now and Toshi is the 'goto'Love Panerai's. I tried a 243 on once...I think it was as thick as my wrist
243 is a very toppy watch, theres a certain charm about it but you have to live and embrace the wrist wobble with that oneI had the choice of 24,25,243 &305
Ended up with the 305. Next (and last I think) will be a 213
Many thanks, will follow that up
