September 2012 Photo Challenge Discussion Thread
Discussion
***Discussion only in this thread, entries in the other thread***
The topic for this month will be HOME. I'm looking for photos taken around the home, of the home, the feeling of home ... you get the idea.
Remember, this is the 'Challenge', so shots must be taken in September and specifically for the challenge.
As usual, the rules:
The photos taken must be your own work
The shot MUST be taken this month, with the closing date being midnight on the last day of the Challenge month
The exif must be posted with your shot
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
The Challenge for next month should be generic, as not everyone has access to zoom, macro, specialist lenses. It should be shots that everyone is capable of achieving with the bare essentials.
There will be two threads that need starting: The Entries thread to commence same time as Discussion thread. In the Entries thread only one picture should be entered. Any others you wish to discuss should be posted in the Discussion thread.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo. Some people still have black and white tellies, and use these stupid 3G phone things for browsing the interweb. Links to larger versions are permissible.
Let's see some creativity and remember - have fun!

Well it's not great and I had to do with a crop of a larger image as we couldn't get low enough (and I didn't have a zoom) but I've decided it's not good enough.
A five minute diversion this morning from my photography duties at work sees me over where I spend six months of the year; so it's my second home (with the Marriott being my third )
To put it into perspective - that's a bus in the foreground
Welcome to the middle of nowhere.

As I said it's my home away from home. Admittingly not a cosy snug kind of home, but it's currently home to me and about 5,000 other folks who are working on a project up here at the moment.
It's called Wapasu Creek Lodge; and while it sounds like the sort of place you'd like to check into, it's full and you can't book in unless you're on the project - having said that, most folks like it when it's time to check out - which for me is today after five weeks up here....Am I happy; damn right I am as I'll be having my first beer for five weeks tonight Calgary here I come...

Home to me is my family. Although that is our lounge in the background!
