What's the general consensus on the best place to pick up a roadworthy shed ? Just looking for something with a couple of months tax and test to pile some miles on and then get rid.

Classifieds? EDIT - I mean private sales.
Dodgy dealer P/X to clear?
Auction?

Gumtree is quite good for sheds. The adverts on there are free so you tend to get plenty of bottom end stuff.

Other than that its the dreaded fleabay.

Done it all ways mate and it doesn't really matter imo.

Went to a local dealer hotspot with a few hundred quid in my pocket and asked what T&T px he had, picked up a 98 Saab 95 for 900, ran it for 3 months and 6000 miles, changed 1 fuse and then fleabayed it for 750.

Picked up the lude on trader for a grand, fsh well cared for, ran it hard but fair for six months but it died at 150000 miles, getting picked up today for scrap frown

Got three shoguns for between 200-500 unseen on the flea....all been fine apart from the engine fire last one had on m1 but we'll gloss over that (she's fine now)

Key thing is not to really have a car in mind, just a type and go for condition. Saab was a 2.0T petrol auto - would have preferred manual diesel but at that money, if the panels are straight and it runs ok just take it. Same as anything, dont buy the first shed you look at either...

Going to look at a Toyota Carina today - 1.8 manual, £295.

All I need is something that starts, stops and steers and isn't too mental on fuel or insurance.

Shame I've just sold the primera bud, my mate bought it after I showed him the handling!

hehe - you're too far away from me anyway tbh, and I'd feel bad about shedding that for 2 months (too good for the kind of treatment that's in store)
