Rugrats are hassling me to subscribe to these people so they can watch some films they missed.

Apart from the 'kids should be outdoors playing and not sat infront of a TV' stance, can I have opinions by people who have used them?

Is it really only £5.99 a month for as many DVD's as you want to watch, and as simple as they make out?

Their Terms & Conditions waffle on for ages and I got a bit bored reading them so is there anything I ought to know in advance.

Over to you...

Oh and edited to say, I know Mods this should really be in another section but the majority of PH'ers loiter in The Lounge and I want to garner as many opinions as I can, then by all means move this. Ta

It's very straight forward, I've yet to suffer any hidden charges in some 3 years of subscribing. When I decided to leave, they gave me three months free to get me to the end of the year, and cancelled after that. Doesn't get much fairer! I've recently signed up again and wouldn't be without, it gets more use than my Sky subscription.

As many as you can watch (single DVD) and return before they send out the next one in a month, plus unlimited online and on internet TV too.

According to the site £5.99 gets you 3 films a month with 1 at home at a time.

It's £9.99 for unlimited each month, one at home at a time which really means you'll get about 4 a month.

I'm in the 4 a month films and games for £10.20.

Interesting. How soon after a major film release does Lovefilm offer it up? Do they stream in hi def audio and video?

Looks like my package is no longer available, £9.99 for 4 games or films a month with 2 at home a time.
I'm on that one as well. I only use it for games though.

5.99 only gets you 2 hours streaming and 3 DVDs per month. to get unlimited access you have to go to the 9.99 tariff:

I've been with Lovefilm for many years now and had over 700 films from them and quite a few games.

I can only think of a few times that DVDs have been damaged or not delivered and they were always sorted out very quickly.

Top service IMHO.

This was a bit that worried me, the T&C's were on about you have to prove non receipt/postal back again and I'm afraid to say I can be arsed with having to get proof of postage everytime I mail a DVD back again. I'm not local to any Post Offices that I can get to easily without a major divertion to my normal day so I would more than likely just post them normally and run the risk. So if they fail to arrive on a regular basis it could get quite costly and then not such good value for money.

I was with them for a while and I was constantly on the wait list for anything actually worth watching; old films were fine, but the latest releases were often on sky by the time I actually recieved them. However this was about 5/6 years ago so the company was very much in its infancy so I'm guessing the service is better now?

I've had LF for around 3 years now and not had one problem with sending discs back, I just return them in the supplied envelope.

I did have 1 rental that didn't reach me but I raised a lost disc with them and they re-credited me.

In terms of getting the films you want to watch, only put the films you want to watch on your list.

I keep my list down at around 3 or 4 films or games that I want to watch, no point padding it out with old stuff just to keep your list at their recommended 10 rentals.

Always get what I want to watch promptly.

If you file a lost disc report then eventually you'll get a form in the post from Royal Mail asking you when the disc didn't arrive or where & when you posted it etc. Fill it out to the best of your knowledge and send it back - we've never had any trouble. Only three lost discs in about 4 years, and one of those turned up under a pile of crap in our house anyway!

Been with these for years, very good quick service, I use the postage service, watch it post it back free of charge and in a couple of days another one arrives. They get recetn releases quick enough and you can go on a waiting list so your first in the que when they get the recent films. Not tried the online stuff or games but a Smart TV is on the cards I think this is where Love Film will come into its own when you stream them you could be watching a couple a night rather than me waiting for the postman.

Only ever had one damaged one and had to wait 3 days for the replacement but was credited with another film credit.

Should say they screwed up my payment holiday and sent me the next disc after only 3 weeks, so i ended up cancelling as I haven't watched anything in ages.

Apart from that have had no problems, was on 4 a month, 2 at a time for 8 quid.

Online streaming/PS3 service is very good technically(with virgin broadband at least), but the selection is pretty cack, so i'd say you need a discs option also.

Another happy customer here; on their cheapest deal (2 films a month, 1 at home at any one time). I think it is first come first served for the new releases, so prebook/pre-list your film if you want it within the first month or two of it coming out, otherwise you do end up waiting a while. for older stuff or games it is a really quick turn around.

Was moochin in John Lewis yesterday looking at Tv's but probably edging more towards an Internet enabled TV now (led one), i was mainly considering this to get lovefilm on it rather than faffing about with the snail mail option, seems my choice is pretty much limited to Samsung then, as Panasonic are signed up to a different provider i've never heard of 'netflix' ?, or is it just easier to buy a 360 (haven't got round to a gaming system for the kids yet wobble).

I hope the Tv providers are not going to be as incompetent/backward as the mobile phone manufacturers, camera's, electricals etc with their incompatability problems on something as easy as a generic charger should have been rolleyes.

Which way would you jump,or is there an internet TV where you can chose your own streaming supplier or do you just have to wifi via the 'virgin' router with any other Tv to get lovefilm or the supplier of the choice on your TV of Choice ?
