Noticed a lump in the groin area which suddenly appeared and although I've not had a hernia before it seemed to feel like what I would expect one to feel like. Did some googling this morning and it looks like I am spot on. Its an ingruinal one which are the most common.

I'll pop over to the docs in the next day or too but does this mean I shouldn't do my usual circuit training, running, cycling or can I do these as long as I don't over do it?

I had one in 1999 and was told not to exercise by the doc as it can cause strangulation if your not careful.

However all I would do is find exercises where my hip was at 90degree so putting no stress on the abdominal muscles, I.e. bench press. You also have to accept you can't go to heavy. Post surgery don't go back to early training I did due to a course I was on and paid the consequences.
