I could go on for ages about my bad experiences at school/college and my reasons for having such rubbish qualifications (virtually non-existant!) but I won't...

I left college at 17 to 'earn a real wage' and I'm 21 now, stuck on a fairly low income for a company with very little ambition and not much scope for financial improvements.

I really wish I had finished college, gone to Uni etc.. but alas, I am where I am and need to kick my self into action!

I currently work in a customer service/sales/managerial role and a little IT is involved. If you were in my position, at my age, what avenues would you be looking down? I just want to see if other peoples choices grab my attention as I really am stuck in a rut frown

I went to uni late (21) as a mature student with very poor A levels (as in non existent). They did interviews with me and asked me to demonstrate I was capable by taking evening classes A-S level.

This was a few years ago, but my understanding of Unis is the principle has not changed, plenty of mature students on courses.

I had a great time, never looked back and my career has done very well since.

I was cautious to pick a uni that was supportive of the students who were coming back in to education (we had ex forces who were using the course to get back into work)

Perhaps look for an employer that's willing to invest in you and help you grow with additional quals?

I know that's vague but there's big companies out there with big training budgets for the right people. You clearly want to better yourself so why not see if there's some kind of management trainee schemes or something?

the clue to your next career move is in your name - although you will first have to find two suitable business-partners to assist you!
