[quote]Germany, France and the UK have tabled a UN resolution calling for an end to human rights violations in Syria.

The resolution, which also calls for the implementation of an Arab League plan to end the violence, was also backed by four Arab countries.

With the UN Security Council divided on Syria, the resolution has been tabled in a committee of the General Assembly.

So our troops will be sent to Syria next, the place will be bombed by NATO jets in the name of freedom and Assad will be executed by persons unknown, with the video available for your delectation on YouTube. Great.
Or, alternatively, the Syrians could be left to sort out their own problems.

Last time I checked Libya was 1,800,000 barrels a day and Syria only 300,000.

I doubt if they will bother going in.

So if a country has any association with fuel distribution, the sole reason for intervention must be due to fuel? I'd guess there's at least one pipe of some sort runs through Bosnia too, so that probably answers my question too.

But the resolution does not call for military action should the Syrians refuse to abide by it. So it's hardly the same as Libya, Iraq etc.

So you didn't suggest that we're in Afghanistan for a pipeline, but not in Syria because they aren't a major oil producer, and don't need to accommodate a major pipeline?!

Melvin, change you're name. You're far more factious than Melvin Udall. You're doing the man an injustice!

What is wrong with you? You asked why we were in Afghanistan, mic not for the pipeline. One of the MANY reason touted was the pipeline, so I said "none, bit there is the pipeline". From that you managed to deduce stuff about Syria, Syrian pipelines, and whatever else.

Take your pathetic insults elsewhere. You asked a question, I gave you AN answer, and off you trollopped like a child on a hobby horse, with little direction. Grow the fk up.

The pipeline of course is something you can cite having looked at the first page of Google results on "Afghanistan oil".

When did the UN go in? 3 years after the conflict started, so they were really motivated weren't they?

Is it possible that they learnt that they delayed too long?
