I wouldn't worry, you'll probably be robbed and murdered anyway...

The place where you can get the best rate wink Travelex are normally ok if you buy online.

Take some USD if you're going clubbing whilst there, most the club entry tickets are in dollars.

Thanks fore the responses, fellas, very helpfulbeer

edit
also incidental, I'll be going to Cozumel. A quick look online reckons the temps will be in the 80s in the day, and in the 70s at night. Is there any first hand knowledge of this for early/mid December?

Another question. Should it be half and half pesos and dollars?

I just came back from Riviera Maya 6 days ago, obviously via Cancun.

I would just get cash out as and when you need it there to be honest, it's very cheap doing that with Nationwide. I would get Pesos though most places will also take dolllars.

It was 28/29 most days when we were there, with the odd shower of varying severity on half the afternoons. It does look a little bit cooler now according to the forecasts though.

Ta very much. Are the nationwide machines prevalent?

You can use any cash point, with a Nationwide card.

They used to do free overseas withdrawals. There is now a small fee but I believe they are the cheapest still by some margin.

I would recommend carrying a lot of cash in Mexico, rather than making smaller withdrawals aa and when you need them...

True, they prefer cash.

But it's also not the kind of place that you would want to be carrying a lot of cash if you get what I mean.

My mum has already told me not to leave the hotelwobble
I'll be taking my credit card and debit card. So £50 in dollars and £100 in pesos for little things, that's not too much is it?

That should be fine. We found our hotel shop and the airport shops horrendously expensive however. (£8 for a little bag of chocolate nuts, £2.10 for a tiny box of matches etc)

You'll be fine, Cancun's not exactly Ciudad Juárez.

I'd use dollars for dollars TBH.

Oh and I'd take at least $250 cash
