I want to repalce my euro cylinder locks for some anti bump/ anti snap cylinders. At them moment my house seems to have a mismatch of cylinders/ sizes. Some are fitted so that the end of the cylinder sits almost flush with the handle plate and on some the cylinder sticks out 10-15mm from the handle plate.

Ideally should the replacement cylinder sit almost flush with the handle plate or is it purely a cosmetic thing?

If they protrude then its easier for the scrotes to get a pair of pliers on them. Have them flush.

You can fit escutcheons if you aren't able to get exactly the right size. Some manufacturers sell cylinders that have snap-off sections that will break if you try to snap them, leaving enough to still open with the key but stopping complete breakage.
