Hi guys,

I've got a question regarding our fleet of cars and their insurance.

Basically we have a company fleet of cars and we have a policy that covers any driver (excluding endorsements) to drive any of our vehicles with the companys permission.

Now the cars, for the purpose of meeting the insurers requirements, have to be owned by the company or a director (listed on Companys House). So if an employee were to get pulled over by the BiB while driving one of our cars what sort of questions would be asked and what information or documents would be needed? Would it be a straight producer as they wouldn't be able to confirm that the driver was permitted to drive the car at the roadside?

So on a similar note, what would be required for travel in Europe as I know usually you need a copy of the V5. So would a letterheaded document from the company coupled with a copy of the insurance certificate be sufficient to prove that the driver is insured?

We've not had any issues but I'd just like to be prepared.

And just for the record, we're only a small company so there's no dedicated person or team with experience in these matters.
