In pots:

Curly parsley
Flat-leaved parsley
Mint
Basil
Chives
Chervil
Tarragon
Chillies - Scotch Bonnet, Apache, Indian Finger and Mild Kashmiri

In the greenhouse:

I'm just finishing off my winter salad greens and lettuces. A lot of hassle for little reward, imho, and I don't think I'll be growing these again. Once I've cut them I'll remove the soil and renew it with a mixture of potting compost from last year's patio pots, plus some compost from the kitchen bin, then get tomatoes in there.

Perhaps some rocket in drifts and also dill / coriander as continuous crops. These are buggers to grow from seed as they 'bolt' to flowering as soon as you pot them on. I've found that sowing in drills at two-week intervals direct in the soil results in more leaves.

My Girlfriends the green fingered one in this household.
But one thing that does interest me is chilis. Last year a friend gave me a jar of chili chutney/ jam. Tasted quite like a sweet chili sauce and it got gobelled up quite quick.

Now we've no green house, but my girlfriend has a sunny glassroom which acts like one.

I had a look at some seeds in a garden centre but was overcome by the varity.

What chilis would work well for this type of sweet chili sauce? And what are the basics of getting these planted if it isn't too late.

Apache have a good flavour and heat with a hint of sweetness.

You really need to be sowing these now - in yogurt pots / seed trays in damp compost, about 1 cm below the surface, with some cling film over the top until they germinate.

Asda has a plastic propagator for £2 which works well.
