Hi there,

bought myself a T350C some weeks ago via Pistonheads.
My first TVR and i really like it.

Lot´s of fun to drive and a lovely colour
combination. Got currently some stone chips on the front i want to get
rid of but can´t find out anything about the exact colour.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3736987.htm

Have some invoices of repairs on hand but the colour is only stated as green.
The vehicle as far as i have heard had been advertised last year
in pistonheads also with some things to repair that had been done
recently. Engine and gearbox seem to be ok and clutch also. No major
leaks below the car. The only documents i have is the history of the previous
owner and the handbook stamped of several dealers. All major services
had been done in the past. The TVR got sold with 5 previous owners.
Maybe sombeody knows something about this particular car and it´s history ?

After reading the last service invoice of Hexham i was quite curious about
a recommendation of work to do. They stated : " Unable to remove engine sump
plug : - siezed " what does this mean ?

It seems the car got sold to it´s first owner by Hawthorns TVR in Surrey.

Any help is highly appreciated smile

Cheers

Gerd

If you do find who owns it etc, look on pistonheads, in their profile for past posts, I did the same, it builds a nice history of the car, luckily all the posts were positive for me.

You can track other owners etc, from looking from owner to owner. I copied and pasted the lot into a little scrapbook :P

Hi there,

just wrote Hawthorns a mail regarding the colour. Maybe they have something in their database.
As for the green colour it looks more like this :

i guess it could be starmist green :

Anybody knows what this sump plug issue could be ?

Hi there,

thx for your help. Placed an order of some touch up at itl colours
in starmist green. Hopefully will be the right one.
Next will be the seat on the drivers side. Leather on the outer
side is highly worn up and the colour is gone. Quite deep scratches
on it and will be replaced. Not quite sure if i can get the colour
match leather in Germany but if not will place an order in the UK
that it will fit to the interior again.

As what i have seen below the car there´s a GAZ suspension fitted.
The roads in my area are a combination of soso and quite good but
once it gets a little bumpy on the motorway the car is defintly
to hard. Maybe a damper or spring problem ? I dont drive it
on tracks at all. Just normal country roads. Any suggestions how
to soften the suspension ?

and btw..... the SpeedSix sound is awesome biggrin

Cheers

Gerd

Have done my homework those days and wrote any dealer in the sevrice book regarding some
information about the car. Hopefully they know something. Services had been done by :

Hawthorns TVR
Henley TVR Heritage
Fernhurst
Hexham

some things i have noticed in the meantime :

As i havent seen any other TVR T350 in the past i am lacking quite a bit of
knowledge in comparing the actuall condition of this one.

Is the condition of the rubber seals normal for a car almost 10 ten years old ?
Anybody knows how much it would cost to get the seat redone ?

Cheers

Gerd

Without wishing to offend, that is looking pretty tired for a 38k mile old T350 IMHO... then again, you got it cheap, so a few grand to tidy it up will go a long way?! smile Welcome!

The seats don't surprise me, still need to get ours tidied up/ swapped out for some tasty carbon ones. hehe

youre right smile as for the exterior and front it would need a respray. as for the stone chips on a brand new paint the new ones are worst ones. the more you have the less you care smile but as for the seat i will get that done wink

as you have one, one question smile

once it´s cold means car stood in the garage overnight and you start it, with anything off heating lights etc. it will go out by itself sometimes. if i hold the throttle at around 1000Umin for around
5-10 sec. it will stay at 700Umin without any probs. sometimes the same once it´s warmed up but then it´s just a light push on the pedal.

is this normal ?

The idle may be set a little low from the sounds of things?

The best advice I can give you as someone outside of England/ far away from a TVR specialist, is to get hold of Graham Varley's fantastic workshop manual. It details how to alter the idle amongst other things.. He is 'VarleyHYD' on here I believe, a very nice chap. smile

edit; http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?nam...

The next best bit of advice I can give you, as someone who has German insurance and is therefore covered, is to get it on the Nurburgring asap and enjoy!! thumbup

Have written VarleyHYD regarding the bible smile maybe a copy is available.

Once it´s warm in idle it´s between 800/850Umin. Got myself a batt. charger
yesterday to keep it in good shape.

As it´s my first TVR the experience is lovely smile Feels like the beast you want
to play with in your sparetime and once the gearknob is warmed up
anything is just fine smile

To warm it up properly i drive straight to the motorway and keep it below 2000Umin
until 60C is reached. Going fast at the moment is not really possible as the DOT
of the tires is from 2004. Will get new ones very soon. Also got a ACP exhaust
but needs some time to arrive. I guess the sound will be awesome biggrin

Currently i am in the learning process in driving on the right side of life biggrin
so getting used to fast gear changes will take some time.

Hello Gerd,

where do you live in Germany ? Maybe you can get some help here from the locals ;-) Door rubbers are not a big problem, you can get them in meters from Eckhard (www.acs-pro.de). But I'm sure you know him already ?
