Need some assistance on the 315/25/19 size tyre - Got a rear puncture the other day which got repaired but its back again and I dont like puncture repairs on tyres that maybe have 3-4mm left on them, so looking at replacements but they no longer make this tyre anymore?

Cars currently running 19" BBS LM's all round with the back either 11.5/12" wide on the rear, fronts are ok and I'm running Michellin tyres but forget the model name of them.

Just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat as I'm needing the N rated tyre - I have been told a different size to try but it'd mean more stretch which I dont want?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah its running good thanks, eating droplinks for its breakfast and dinner, I think the stiff set up and the terrible roads round Edinburgh dont help though! Crazy as it sounds but may look at selling motons for a set up that will please my spine!

Those tyres are very well priced but whats the craic with N rated tyres? Is it really important on a 500bhp+ 996 Turbo? Im rubbish with tyres as I usually dont keep cars long enough! lol

Thanks

Bit of a can of worms the whole 'N rated' tyre thing (plenty of threads around if you want to waste an afternoon reading!!)

In short, it just means they have been tested/approved for use on Porsche (BMW and Mercedes have similar codings), which does not necesarrily mean that a non N-rated tyre is no use; The Michelin Pilot SuperSport tyre for example is an excellent tyre, has been developed with Porsche (to a degree) but for whatever reason they haven't been bestowed with an N rating yet (there is at least two threads on this very point).

I personally have always gone N Rated, mainly because the tyres I know and trust happen to have N ratings more than anything else (and that's just with my puny 420bhp, never mind your 500!!), and I like to know when I'm pushing on that the tyres beneath me are up to the job.

Rightly or wrongly, there is also the view that, when selling a car, if the buyer doesn't see N rated tyres on the vehicle, he may be concerned about what else has been scrimped on. Minor point, but worth keeping in mind if you are thinking about selling any time in the near future.

ETA a few threads about n ratings...

Thanks for the links mate!

Yeah I kind of knew it was the tyre to play it safe with, but as in original post I'm struggling to which size n brand to go for?
