earplugs in bed
Discussion
I've been using them for a year and a half now and have had to have my ears syringed once. I recently moved into a house with a large tree right outside my bedroom window and was getting woken up by the dawn chorus every morning at 4:30 I use these ones, they seem perfect for the job.

If you ever decide you don't want to get woken up by your alarm clock, get these.

I only wear them when working on nightshifts as I don't need an alarm clock to wake me up.

How do you guys manage to hear your alarm cocks?
You get one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zEH5GxPNO8I may invest in some ear plugs, frequently get called into work in the early hours and back to bed as the birds get up.

I'm a very light sleeper and have discovered that earplugs really help. However, someone told me that this could be a bad move as wax is meant to constantly leak out of the ears. Any truth in that?
Is the person who told you this medically trained in any way? Thought not. I wear earplugs on my motorcycle and sometimes when sleeping. I find that they keep my ears cleaner as the wax sticks to them and is extracted.Pothole said:

Seems a bit bonkers to get quite so exercised about it. We agree that wax is produced and has to go somewhere. The bit of knowledge I was missing was the rate of production and any possible long-term ramifications of blocking the flow for 8 hours at a time. Not being an ear expert myself I felt the question was worth asking. Sorry that it's upset you.
