Anyone been to a Keycamp?

Thinking of going for the first time now we've got 2yr old twins for a week in May '13.

Feedback and / or alternatives appreciated.

I've looked at something similar, but yet to book anything.

The one in Holland which is part of a amusement park is meant to be really good.

We did those a few times when I was a teenager, and a couple of times more recently with Eurocamp (same thing), now that we have our own three kids.

Works well if you're rather new to camping, as everything is provided. All you do is show up with your clothes and get on with it. That can be a major bonus, especially at the end of the holiday, when you just pack said clothes up and walk away from the tent. I was missing that part quite a bit last week, as I spent a good three hours breaking down our camp, and re-packing the intricate jigsaw puzzle that was our car, before driving the 8hrs back up through France.

However, you pay for it. We realized that for the additional cost of one two week Eurocamp holiday, over doing it with our own kit, we could buy all the kit we needed. So we did just that a couple of years ago. Like I said, if you're new to camping, or can't be arsed lugging your own gear around (especially if you have 2 2yr olds!), it's a great option. I would do it again if I felt like spending the money.

I took the kids to the Keycamp site at St Malo early summer. Basic but clean. Onsite restaurants wont win any culinary awards but edible. Plenty of scope to go and buy some decent food and bbq or cook in. Kids loved it, which at the end of the day is why you go. Always someone of a similar age about to play with while mum and dad tuck into some wine smile We found the staff to be pleasant and very helpful.

Other companies available at these sites, iirc there was one called Canvas who seemed very active with kids clubs and also offered some accommodation Keycamp didn't have (log cabins etc).

We went for 7 days which was about 2 days too long, but that might have been down to the iffy weather.

I'm sure we will go again next year.
