Excuse my lack of DIY experience, but I am going to try a fit a simple 1 metre x 50cm granite hearth onto an existing level concrete floor. .... How hard can it be !

The stone mason advised standard Wickes floor tile adhesive, does this sound ok ? as a bit of googling comes up with a lot of people mixing up mortar for this job ?

Thank you

floor tile adhesive should be fine fine, but get adhesive suitable for stone. Others MAY leech through some porous stones.

I used ready mixed floor tile adhesive from b&q to stick my granite hearth and insert into place

Thank you, yes it's solid, so just liberal amounts of adhesive then.

Thank you chaps..

If you are going to place a solid fuel fire on the hearth then the hearth will need expansion gaps.
