Hello just wondered if anyone would be interested in a run to wales for a hoon before the weather is out.

Never been there myself but sure someone on here has and think would be a nice day combined with a pub lunch or something smile

I myself would suggest not this weekend but the one after but can be more into the future if preferred smile

I'm always up for a run to Wales! I've not been on a group run for a while and I'm bored of flying solo haha. Me and a few mates are planning on doing an early one in a few weeks actually, but no date set yet...

I know quite a few good routes if that's any help!?

Certainly was my first PH run to silverstone last week and got a taste for it so if know some good routes would be very useful smile

Think if got a few of us together would be a good run out whilst we still have a bit of sun left.

I know a couple of us have been thinking about one for a while as its been ages since we last did one. We provisionally penciled in a day in October but nothing's been confirmed yet. Where would you want to go? Mid or North?

Evo triangle is A543 and A5 by llanfihangel glyn myfyr.

In terms of distance, I personally like a longer drive than many. I have no objection to covering alot of ground. I'm always of the view that its alot of miles and fuel to get back there so if it means spending a bit longer and a few ££ extra then its worth it if your not far away. Depends what sort of a drive you want etc.

My suggestion is if you do Evo then you do it early in the morning as there is less sheep about wink

I was planning on going for a run in the area on the weekend of the 20th/21st October if anyone fancies it.

Snap, on both counts.

If you've not done the triangle before, it's worth having a pop at but it's not that inspiring - especially when you take plod, organ donors and the wildlife into consideration.

There are plenty of amazing roads and sights around that sort of area, though.

A few of us went last month and had a great day, we met/regrouped and had breakfast at Rhug farm shop (LL21 0EH) on the A5 just a few miles away from evo triangle and on the way back we had a lovely lunch at pub called The Cross Foxes (LL13 0DR). from which u can take a more scenic enjoyable drive back home than the A5.

I make fairly regular trips up to the Triangle from Shrewsbury. The best route up there is via the B4396 and B4391 to Bala and then the A4212 and B4501. But that takes no time at all, so to draw it out a good route is via the B4391 and B4407. If you want to draw it out even further, the roads around Bedgelert and Snowdon are sublime.

A good time to leave Shrews is around 07:00 as the roads up there start getting a bit busier just after lunch.

Also, the cafe at Llyn Brenig lake centre on the triangle serves a great breakfast!!

I recommend the Cross Foxes nr Machynlleth LL40 2SG as another great pub to eat at. Lovely views from the decking on a clear evening plus some great roads as well to experience

I'm up for an early morning session. I'm not interested in being out later as the roads are too busy.
Mid Wales is probably better as the roads are emptier and more expansive.
I know the roads very well. However at this time of year I need to be cautious about the weather for two reasons. The first is that I have no roof on my car and the second is that it is too powerful and has absolutely zero grip in the wet.

I'm planning a run for this Sunday 14th oct meeting on the outskirts of shrewsbury early doors. The route will be something along the lines of that I mentioned above, probably taking in a few roads around Llanberis and snowdon, including the triangle.

Any takers?

Ah, blow, got a big BMX trial this Saturday otherwise I'd have been up for that. Were you taking the Grale?

Ooops my garage is a little outdated, unfortunately I don't own the Grale any more cry

If the weathers good I'll be in my Eunos, if wet I'll be in my Golf mk2 GTI... Shame you can't make it! Still, the riding of bikes is just as appealing!
