Noble Crash - A131 Gt Leighs towards Chelmsford, Essex
Discussion
My best wishes go out to whoever this is. I wrote off my first 3R as they can be very unforgiving in certain conditions if you're not familiar with them and it's a very unpleaseant situation all around. Not only do you feel like an idiot but you've wrecked your pride and joy to boot. They definately aren't up to smashing into things.
Category A: Scrap only - this vehicle should have been crushed. It should never reappear on the road and there are no economically salvageable parts. It is of value only for scrap metal - e.g. a totally burnt-out vehicle.
Category B: The bodyshell should have been crushed. The vehicle should never reappear on the road, but it can be broken for spare parts plus any residual scrap metal.
Category C: Vehicle extensively damaged and insurer has decided not to repair. The vehicle should have an independent inspection before being allowed back onto the road.
Category D: Vehicle damaged and insurer has decided not to repair.
Category F: Vehicle damaged by fire and insurer has decided not to repair.

Glad everyone is OK, and still impressed by how well the central section hangs together. One advantage of GRP bodies is that is might make a big mess, but it gets rid of a lot of energy in doing so.
I still remember the Elise design video where they just drove it head on into a brick wall at about 20+ mph, big bang, bolted on a new front end crash structure, and drove off.

Hi all, the car was mine!!!! accident was caused by diesel spillage on the road surface. My passenger is now suffering neck & back problems. I myself was only shaken as I was wearing harness.(she was only wearing seatbelt) Now theres a lesson.
Hello! glad You're OK! Do you know what you did to lose control? Sharp steering input (avoiding something) or too much throttle or both? Do you have an open diff or LSD?Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
