I need a van type thingy. Help?

Ok, so I've decided I need to add another vehicle to the fleet. I don't actually want a van, more a car I can shove anything and everything in. I'd also like something that will 'fit in' with the rest of my garage, and thus my reputation locally (don't ask).
I've been looking at old discos, which would seem to fit the bill. Can the rear seats be taken out to mae a flat load bay though? I would assume they can't.
Quite fancy an old rangie too, but I'd feel a bit bad about trundling round with all manner of greasy bits in it.
Of course I could just bag a sheddy R75 estate, but perhaps a 4x4 would be more fun. It is nearly winter after all.
Ideas, chaps?!

Most old Discos are utter nails unless you're paying £2k+ so be prepared for knackered engines, leaky sunroofs and rust everywhere, especially the boot floor and rear inner wheelarches. In my experience half of them have been used as builders vans already and they do have a flat loadspace.
How about an LDV Pilot, loads of cheap ex-Royal Mail ones out there, and you're clearly some kind of motoring masochist so you'll feel right at home in one

As said, discovery 1's are getting on now. Engines are pretty good it's the rot that kills them. Main areas are boot floor, arches and sills. Discovery 2's are a better bet, although they start at 3kish unless you get a v8 they're a little cheaper. Lots of electrics to go wrong and sunroofs resemble taps. I pick a 2 up tomorrow afternoon. Low spec model with no sun roofs, no air suspension and no ACE. Much less to go wrong and better suited to me. If you get one watch for rust/corrosion on rear chassis and ACE pipes.
I wouldn't touch a P38 range tbh. Bargains on paper but you need very deep pockets to keep one working properly.
